On 🇸🇪Sweden’s National Day🇸🇪, the UNDP Sahel Resilience Project extends its sincere gratitude to #Sweden for its generous and sustained support.

Since 2019, Sweden’s steadfast invaluable contributions are enabling the project to advance resilience across the Sahel on multiple interconnected fronts:
✅Strengthening data systems that empower governments and partners to make more informed decisions
✅Building robust governance frameworks that translate knowledge into sound policies and budgets for risk-informed development
✅Enhancing preparedness so that communities can recover more effectively from shocks while addressing underlying risks
✅Developing capacities for managing risks in rapidly growing urban areas, creating safer and more sustainable cities
✅Fostering vibrant regional engagement and South-South exchange, allowing innovations and knowledge to flow across borders and inspire collective progress.

Together, these efforts are helping to build communities across the Sahel that are better equipped to withstand challenges and pursue sustainable development with confidence.

We are proud to work alongside Sweden to strengthen resilience in the region.

The ECOWAS Commission joins the global drive for climate- and disaster-resilient infrastructure as a member of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), marking a milestone for regional partnerships.

The ECOWAS Commission’s membership in the CDRI (@cdri_world ) was officially commemorated today, 📅17 February, at the High Commission of India🇮🇳 in Abuja.

This partnership strengthens the ECOWAS Commission’s efforts to promote disaster- and climate-resilient infrastructure in the region.

“By joining CDRI, ECOWAS affirms its commitment to working with global partners to design infrastructure that withstands shocks.” – H.E. Prof. Fatou Sow Sarr.
