Hadith No:35/430. Umdatul Ahkam.
(Chapter on Ghusl from Janabah)
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (رضي الله عنه) asked:
“O Messenger of Allah, can one of us sleep while he is in a state of janābah?”
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
“Yes. When one of you performs wudu, then let him sleep.”
Explanation:
This Hadith establishes that a person who is in janābah does not have to perform ghusl immediately simply because he wants to sleep.
For example, if a husband and wife have intercourse at night and they want to sleep before Fajr, they may sleep without performing ghusl first.
However, the Prophet ﷺ instructed the person to perform wudu before sleeping.
Why is this important?
Janābah is a state of major ritual impurity. It does not mean that the person’s physical body has become dirty.
A person in janābah can:
eat,
drink,
sleep,
interact with other people.
But before performing an act that requires major purification, such as ṣalāh, ghusl is required.
Important practical lesson:
If someone becomes junub at night:
Option 1: Perform ghusl immediately and sleep.
Option 2: Perform wudu and sleep, then perform ghusl before Fajr prayer.
The second option is supported directly by this Hadith.
✅As-Salam Alaykum my people
There is a charity cause I want us to support in our community. The goal is to ensure 12 orphans get enrolled and start school. I have personally verified the organization. So far, 145,000 has been raised.
Right now, the balance needed to complete their enrollment is N215,000. This is where we come in.
We can close this gap with whatever we have. Your 1k or 2k will do wonders to get these kids into a classroom.
I have their videos and can vouch for the cause. Brother Quadri is the facilitator of the program, and I will be monitoring it directly.

Hadith 34/430. Umdatul Ahkam.
(Chapter on Ghusl from Janabah)
Maymūnah bint al-Ḥārith (رضي الله عنها), the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, said:
“I prepared water for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the bath of janābah. He poured water with his right hand over his left hand twice or three times and then washed his private parts. Then he rubbed his hand against the ground or the wall twice or three times,(which in other words means he washed his hands 3 times). Then he rinsed his mouth and nose, washed his face and forearms, then poured water over his head, and then washed the rest of his body. Then he moved away and washed his feet. I brought him a cloth, but he did not take it, and he began wiping the water from his body with his hand.”
Detailed Explanation:
This is one of the most detailed descriptions of the Prophet’s ﷺ ghusl.
1. He washed his hands.
He poured water over his right hand and washed the left, then repeated it.
2. He washed his private parts.
This removed any physical impurity that might have been present.
3. He cleaned his hand.
He rubbed his hand against the ground or wall after washing the private parts.
4. He rinsed his mouth and nose.
The Arabic words are:
تَمَضْمَضَ — rinsed the mouth.
اسْتَنْشَقَ — drew water into the nose.
5. He washed his face and arms.
This resembles the normal components of wudu.
6. He poured water over his head.
The water was made to reach the hair and scalp.
7. He washed the rest of his body.
This completes the general purification of the body.
8. He washed his feet afterward.
This shows that the feet can be washed at the end of ghusl.
9. He declined the cloth.
Maymūnah brought him a cloth to dry himself, but he did not use it on this occasion. Instead, he removed water from his body with his hands.
Important point:
The fact that he did not use the cloth does not mean drying oneself after ghusl is forbidden. It simply shows that he chose not to use it on that occasion.
Please share and follow to keep up with the Hadiths.
This is not Arabic. This is Ajami.
What you are looking at on the 500 Naira note is the Hausa language, but it is written using the Ajami script. Ajami is a writing system where Arabic letters are used to write local African languages.
I want you to think of it the same way we use the Latin alphabet to write English or Igbo.
The text just spells out the value of the currency in Hausa. It was introduced decades ago to help non-Western educated populations identify the money. It has zero connection to Nigeria being an Islamic nation as claimed in your post.
Let’s be careful in how we spread ignorance on this app. It will not go unchecked.
Q & A SESSION: Response on whether the du'a (supplications) of parents for their children can change the children's qadr (divine decree or destiny).
The story Mufti narrated in this video about Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak is a very famous one. You can find the core of this historical account in classical texts such as Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah by Ibn Kathir and Tarikh Baghdad by Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi.
But there is a very important detail we need to correct. The ending part of the narration where returning pilgrims claimed they saw him in Mecca, and the dream where an angel was created in his image to perform the Hajj on his behalf, is not authentic.
If you check the original story in Tarikh Baghdad, the reliable chains of narration only focus on his immense charity. They do not contain the part about the angels taking his place.
Later storytellers added that supernatural ending to make the narrative more emotional for the masses. And if you watch the video, it was exactly at that place the people said Allahu Akbar.
The real lesson is profound enough on its own. Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak understood that feeding a starving family takes precedence over a voluntary Hajj.
I am putting this out to show that we do not need unauthentic additions to appreciate the weight of his sacrifice.
Allah knows best.
Q & A SESSION: Response on whether the punishment on those who don't make du'a (supplication) to Allah is for Dua al-Ibadah (the supplication of worship) or Dua al-Mas'alah (the supplication of request).
Hadith No:32/430. Umdatul Ahkam.
(The chapter on Ghusl from Janabah)
Narrated by ʿĀ’ishah
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ghusl because of janābah, he would wash his hands, then perform ablution as he performed ablution for prayer. Then he would run his fingers through his hair until he thought that the water had reached his skin. Then he would pour water over his head three times, and then wash the rest of his body.”
Explanation:
This Hadith gives us a practical description of the Prophet’s ﷺ method of ghusl from janābah.
The procedure mentioned is:
Wash the hands first.
This is an act of cleanliness before beginning the main purification.
Perform wudu.
The Prophet ﷺ would perform an ablution similar to the wudu performed for prayer.
Ensure that water reaches the roots of the hair.
He would run his fingers through his hair so that water could reach the scalp.
This is particularly important where hair is thick.
Pour water over the head three times.
The three pours ensure that the head and hair are thoroughly wet.
Wash the entire body.
Water must reach the whole body.
Ghusl is not merely taking an ordinary shower. The purpose is ritual purification, and the whole body must be reached by water.
The Prophet ﷺ and the Jewish Funeral.
One day, a funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet ﷺ.
When he saw it, he stood up.
Someone told him that the deceased was a Jewish person.
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
“Was it not a soul?”
This small incident reveals something profound about his character.
The Prophet ﷺ was the Messenger of Allah and firmly distinguished Islam from other beliefs, but he still recognized the dignity of human life.
His companions were learning from him not only through his sermons, but also through moments like this.
He taught them that disagreement in faith did not give them permission to abandon basic human dignity.
The lesson: Respect for human dignity can exist alongside religious conviction.
Hadith No:30/430. Umdatul Ahkam.
(The chapter on Madhy and other matters)
“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
‘Five things are from the Fitrah: circumcision, removing the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, clipping the nails, and removing the armpit hair.’
Explanation:
Fitrah (الفطرة) here refers to practices of natural cleanliness and the way of purity that Allah has legislated for human beings.
The five mentioned are:
-Circumcision
Removal of the foreskin in male circumcision.
-Removing pubic hair
Removing the hair around the private area.
-Trimming the moustache
Keeping the moustache properly trimmed.
-Clipping the nails
Maintaining clean and short fingernails and toenails.
-Removing armpit hair
Removing the hair from the armpits.
These practices combine cleanliness, personal hygiene, good appearance and adherence to the Sunnah.
An important point: the Hadith says “five”, but this does not necessarily mean these are the only acts of Fitrah.
Other authentic narrations mention additional practices such as the siwak, rinsing the nose, washing between the fingers, and letting the beard grow.
Hadith in Arabic;
