#WrestlingShirtADayInMay I coached at @MonticelloHigh for nearly a decade and had some amazing kids come through the program. CJ and Nathan were both state qualifiers for MHS. Chris and Maggie were awesome team parents. Any help would be appreciated. https://t.co/7HP4XcKobV
Gary Spry was one of the first coaches to welcome me to Monticello 10 years ago. His personal sacrifices, selflessness, and dedication created an environment where so many Mustangs student-athletes have grown and thrived. 21 years on Independence Way with over 400 games coached, nearly 200 wins, and a generation of lives impacted. Simply put, thank you.
Join us tomorrow, April 11, for a regular School Board meeting. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in Lane Auditorium at the County Office Building. All community members are welcome to attend.

Coaches this is going to a great day for football 🏈. 11 area HS teams. Over a dozen confirmed college coaches in attendance. A great opportunity to showcase your skills and be better prepared for summer camps. @CvilleVarsity@falconcville@FNEFootball@scrimmageplay
Guards are a dime a dozen! Combo guards are the most over saturated position in the game. REALLY GOOD Point Guards? Those that can touch the paint at will, facilitate the offense, defend 94 feet, hit the open player, knock down open shots, and LEAD? Now that’s another story! Those are RARE!!!!
1)ALL D2-D3 packages are built like this
A- Academic $ based on GPA/Test Scores
B-Institutional grant $ through the school
C- FAFSA award
D- Athletic $ based on their need of you. (D2 Only)
After all of this, you have a final $ amount left for you to pay to go to school!
DYK? There are certain periods during the year in which recruiting may or may not occur in a particular sport. Review your @NCAA division- and sport-specific recruiting calendar.

Kids become athletes because they want to. Because of their ability & desire if they enjoy it. If they don’t enjoy it, no amount of begging/bribing will ever make them athletes. They can’t compete for a parent, coach, trainer or relative. It’s their journey & only their journey!
Only 27 percent of @NCAADII scholarship athletes who enter the transfer portal end up receiving a scholarship from another institution. This is a story that needs to be told. Do the math. 73 percent give up a scholarship to enter portal, then don’t get one to replace it.
Too many people/players don’t understand this. Failing is not the problem, what you do with it is? Accept it, learn from it and work at it again. #MentalToughness
Coaches who are only in it for recognition & a winning record typically don't have the ability to coach players who struggle! They only want players who come ready to make them look good. Those people are detrimental to a kid’s development, especially kids who need extra support!
