AD HOC OPERATION CRACKS DOWN ON STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION OF ILLEGAL NARCOTICS
Diepsloot SAPS Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) members conducted an ad hoc operation, in response to information regarding the suspected storage and distribution of illegal narcotics at Diepsloot informal settlement on Monday, 28 September 2026.
The information was received from a registered informant, who indicated that a known target was expected to receive a consignment of Crystal Meth estimated to weigh 3kg and with a street value of over R700 000.00. The drugs were allegedly intended for distribution and sale in the vicinity.
When acting on the information, Diepsloot SAPS CPU members promptly responded and went to conduct a search at the said spaza shop. During the operation, members seized approximately 2kg of Crystal Meth, with an estimated street value of over R500 000.00.
The known target fled the scene just before the police could arrest them. Two suspects, who were identified as Ethiopian and Malawian nationals, were subsequently arrested in connection with the suspected possession and distribution of illegal narcotics.
The suspects are expected to appear before court on charges relating to the possession and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Evidence Leader Mr. Chaskalson presents disturbing evidence at the #MadlangaCommission, showing Bafana Sindane received names, ID numbers, and photos of alleged drug distributors linked to rival S’bu Nkosi associate, Solly Mthethwa (Matlala). Chaskalson argues there are no innocent explanations for this "intelligence," suggesting it was either for revenge or to take over Matlala’s drug distribution network. https://t.co/sAsBx5tV6h
