Dear Community Members,

Early this morning - just before fajr prayers – the Peace Centre (@Th3PeaceCentre) in #Leicester was targeted by 3 individuals. In this cowardly and Islamophobic attack, they hurled bottles of alcohol and rocks at the building, causing criminal damage to the front entrance.

Alhamdulillah they were unable to break in, and thankfully nobody was in the building at the time. But the damage caused serves as a stark reminder of the intolerance and bigotry that still exists in our society.

At the Peace Centre, we stand as a symbol of unity and compassion, offering support and services to all members of our community, regardless of their background. This despicable act will not deter us from our mission of serving those in need and fostering harmony among us.

We are liaising with the police who are investigating the incident and have arrested one person so far. We look forward to their updates.

We urge all community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately. If you have any information regarding this incident, please come forward and assist the police investigation.
