Contractor roles often exist because companies care more about outcomes than hours. When a company hires a contractor, they’re usually looking for someone with a specific skill who can get the work done efficiently and at a high level.
Kristi’s story is one we hear often.
A stable office job.
A predictable routine.
But no freedom. No flexibility. No path toward the lifestyle she actually wanted.
Inside the Remote Job Fast Track, she got coaching, community, and a clear plan, and it changed everything for her.
Contractor models and employers of record open the door to worldwide talent, reduce operational costs, and give companies more flexibility when roles evolve or don’t work out. The future of hiring will likely be more global and more flexible, which means more opportunities.
Some companies use a third party to legally hire people from all over the world. This setup is called an employer of record. Instead of being hired directly by the company you work for, you’re hired by a global employment platform that has legal entities in many countries.
Even traditional employment isn’t as secure as people think. Full-time roles come with more protections, but layoffs still happen every day to people who thought their job was stable. Contractor roles carry more risk, but both paths depend on the health of the company.
Choosing freedom sometimes means accepting a different kind of risk. Working as a contractor lets you get hired from anywhere and work from anywhere, which is the level of flexibility most people want. But it also means you’re responsible for things like health insurance.
A company can let you work from anywhere without being able to hire from anywhere. That’s where most of the confusion comes from. A work-from-anywhere company may only be allowed to hire people from one country, but once you’re hired, you can live or travel wherever you want.
Most people don’t realize there’s a difference between remote companies and hire-from-anywhere companies.
Remote roles might still have hiring limits, but hire-from-anywhere companies are the ones that can legally bring on employees from almost any country.

A lot of people think sales = pushy.
A lot of introverts think sales = “not for me.”
Matt learned both of those assumptions are wrong.
Sales can be human, calm, problem-solving… and introverts often thrive in it.
Hiring from one country doesn’t mean the job isn’t remote.
A lot of people see “UK citizens only” or “must be based in Canada” and assume the company isn’t truly work from anywhere. But that’s not what’s happening.

It’s completely normal to feel confused about where you’re “allowed” to work. Many people want a remote job that lets them travel or move abroad, but the rules around hiring, location, and eligibility can feel overwhelming.
We’re taught to tie our value to our job title.
So many of us grew up believing that success means long hours, impressive roles and being able to prove we’re “working hard enough.” That pressure follows people into adulthood, and it’s why burnout feels normal instead of alarming
