I worked so hard at zero-carb, OMAD carnivoring. I gave it 2 years. Not much weight loss and never a ketone. Glucose seldom below 100 even on multi-day fasts. And now I am beset with a horrible pain in my right side, liver riddled with lesions, CA 19-9 tumor markers at 41,679, awaiting results of the liver biopsy. I have no more energy to work hard at getting healthy. So much ahead - a PET scan and long drives to bigger hospitals since I live in a very small town. If you are a praying person, I need prayer. Diet alone isn't going to fix me. BTW, I did not take any clot shots. I hope that helps my case.

For those who do not know, the past week I have been in the hospital. My body is riddled with cancer. Lots of lesions on my liver and not sure where else. Very high tumor markers. Biopsy not back yet. Quite a long road ahead, it seems. Prayers welcome. BTW, I refused the COVID shots. I hope my fortitude back then pays off now.

@KJBear64 @OfficialADSOrg Yep. Diagnosed in 2010. Been on Armour since but as of this month it is no longer available. Not sure how to proceed because no dessicated meds will be on the market, only synthetic hormones that did not work for me.

@ClaraAndFritz Read the book! Be careful about movies. Netflix recently put out an Anne of Green Gables series and the first few episodes are great. But then it goes woke and normalizes a lesbian relationship. I suggest you just keep reading!

I started making my own about a year ago. I use milk and cream (75% milk, 25% cream) from a local dairy. I let it ferment for 18 hours, thoroughly chill it, and then strain it for a few hours. It is very thick. And I like it plain the best! No need for sugar or flavorings. It is delicious!

I teach 6th and 7th grade English for a large inner-city school district. It is a remote at-home job because they can't find enough certified teachers. About 10 years ago the move away from novels started. Where we used to have them read whole texts, they now just get excerpts. Much of what they are given is news articles on the dangers of humans harming the environment, or the ways kids can become change agents by teaching others to recycle more trash. Reading has become boring. There is no anticipation of an exciting plot twist or the coming of age mysteries of yesteryear. And writing? There is no concept of grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. I receive either unintelligible non-sentences or perfectly written college level AI generated essays. Literature is of no interest to this screen addicted generation. Curriculum developers offer such shallow fare. Other than home or private schooling, I do not think the next generation will be one that reads for either personal enrichment or enjoyment. Unless the students are offered engaging literature I think they will be lost to reading forever.

I’ll say it plainly.

Did you vote for Donald Trump?

Like millions of others, We bought into it.
Every word. Every promise.
Drain the swamp.
Crush the global elites.
Put the people first.

It didn’t sound like politics.
It sounded like a reckoning.
But time has a way of exposing things.
The wars never ended.
The power never shifted.
The same financial empires kept pulling the strings—quietly, efficiently, untouched.

And the people?
Still drowning.

So what was it, really?

A rebellion… or a role being played inside a rigged system?

Because the deeper you look, the more it feels like nothing changed—
just the face on the screen.
That’s the part that hits hardest.
We didn’t just support it.
We needed to believe it.

But belief is easy to manufacture.
Truth isn’t.

Maybe the real turning point isn’t left or right.
It’s when people stop trusting the script altogether.

If that moment ever comes…
things might actually start to change.

I never even thought about this until seeing your post. Here I have a MA in reading and taught middle school reading for years. But never once did I encounter a non-hearing student. So much of reading is phonics - sounds! How does a non-hearing student decipher written language they have never heard? I would have no idea where to even begin. I applaud you for your work with students. Your advocacy and tutoring are a rare combination that is very much needed in schools!
