My name is Bear. I am a saved son, husband, father, servant of Christ, seminarian at William Tennent. I love Jesus, truth, learning, relentlessly hoping.
@JavaCodeMonkey@mattpat1@ThabitiAnyabwil However, I think it is shortsighted to believe that relational and systematic change are mutually exclusive. Arguing for systematic reform or transformation in no way negates relational evangelism or discipleship, but ignoring the need for it does…#my2cents
@JavaCodeMonkey@mattpat1@ThabitiAnyabwil I hear the relational argument quite a lot, and I do agree that the gospel is relational and that there must be a relational aspect of the solution…
My 20s - There’s so much wrong. I’m going to change the world!
My 30s - There’s so much wrong. I’m going to change the church!
My 40s - There’s so much wrong. I need to work on me. Spirit, help me change.
““Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:9-10 CSB #surrender#trust#weep#mourn#repeat
Honest question here. Does America, specifically the church, but the whole thing too, do we have any idea how to #mourn over how broken things are? Is the only thing we know how to do fight and burn down and point fingers? We gotta change fam. Got to.
We have come to settle kindly with compromise of character for the sake of a cause(this has nothing to do with our president, but rather myself and many that I love deeply)... yet Jesus said if there is sin let it aggressively be cut off cause it isn’t worth your soul.
If you are going to advocate for both the vulnerable unborn and the vulnerable born, consider wearing a helmet. For some reason, many people seem suspicious of (if not angered by) a comprehensive life ethic. #WombToTomb
Whatever you do, someone will criticize, correct, point out the one bit you missed, or highlight someone who did it earlier and better. Do something anyway.
