Stop thinking this is about one vaccine.
It’s about whether you think the government should have the power to take your job, limit your travel, and restrict your life for refusing to submit to medical procedures.
@unusual_whales “My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw McConnell die at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.”
@SusieM414141 Pennsylvania vs Mimms; SCOTUS decision
If an LEO “asks” you to exit your vehicle during a traffic stop IT IS A NON NEGOTIABLE ORDER, NOT A REQUEST
You do NOT have the right to refuse to exit your vehicle
You exit or get arrested for Resisting and/or Obstruction
NEW RULE:
If you are a member of the US Olympic Team and you publicly criticize the USA while on foreign soil, you are off the team.
You have 15 minutes to gather your things in the Olympic Village. Someone will drive you to the airport and push you out on the curb. Figure out your own way to fly home.
Being a USA Olympian is a privilege, not a right. Too bad you couldn't figure that out.
@AnthonyTed1977 You’re right, there is no US law with death as a penalty for sedition (or really seditious conspiracy). It’s in the USMCJ and applicable only to service members.
Well, we could have learned 2 things:
That more people need to get off benefits and work.
That people who actually need help can be helped voluntarily by others and not the government.
Instead.... More government.
Yay
@Sheliahee@RapidResponse47 If we create a process to deposit ACA subsidies directly into taxpayer HSAs, people will set up accounts—it took me <5 mins.
Official rollout would push providers to simplify the process for new users.
We went to church this morning and I have a lot of thoughts. Thank you for all of the DM's and replies about it.
The pastor, thankfully, did not wash my mouth out with soap. I felt welcome and they did this thing like 10 minutes in where you are supposed to meet the people around you.
The woman next to me gave me a hug and I felt really bad because I started crying and she thought she did something wrong. Maybe that's the Holy Spirit or me just being socially awkward.
The pastor talked a lot about Jesus and grace. He told the story of a woman named Rahab who was a prostitute and ultimately became an ancestor of Jesus.
I don't know where in the Bible that is, but I will look it up and put it in the comments.
I'm not the same as Rahab, but it made me feel like there is hope for me in this, maybe.
I have many more thoughts and a lot more questions that I will probably share in the coming days if that is ok.
But I'm gonna say this for now... I am putting @MrsErikaKirk's tweet here. I think there's more to what Erika is saying than just what she wrote.
She said "Go to church." She didn't say go to a church in this denomination or that has this specific belief. She just said to go.
I think she just wants people to feel Jesus and is less worried about where.
I think right now, maybe I just need to go and see and feel and not worry about the small things like how people interpret things in the Bible.
This was really long. Know that I appreciate all of the advice, care and thoughts I have found from strangers (and friends) on the internet.
