@Purple_Pupp @washghost1 It does give it a distinctive snap. My favorite breakfast sausages come pre-cooked and frozen, with no casing. Cleaner to bite through and lets them soak up some maple syrup when I want it.

In sausage production it's applied to the meat mixture during the extrusion phase and then stabilized using a calcium-based agent, forming a continuous and uniform coating

@runningrph61 @end3of6days9 I added up the ground beef, chicken thighs, boiled eggs, turkey breast, smash burgers, and sausage with my local Sam’s Club prices and it came out to $74.39. Maybe $60 of protein in top 10 lowest CoL states, but not anywhere else
