๐ฉ๐น๐ฌ๐จ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ: Bears center Drew Dalman has informed the team that he is retiring from the NFL, per ESPN.
Dalman, 27, signed a three-year deal with the Bears last offseason and was named to the Pro Bowl in his first season in Chicago.
Recent Super Bowl winners make it easy to see that the Bears have the coach and offense to be a super bowl team. What they are missing is an elite DL. Last offseaosn was OL rebuild and this year needs to be the same rebuild for the DL.
@thescorechicago@BradBiggs@DavidHaugh Even an an infant can understand that this job is a huge promotion. He's going to take on the typical GM role for a guy that has never had a front office job. But NFL say she he has football in his job title and has veto power. OK, so Ian is just gonna do coffee runs?
@ChiRuxinBGO Yep. The Bears handling and development of Ian Cunningham was perfect in every way and its exactly what the rule was intended to reward. This precedent will screw teams. But even more embarrassing it hurts minority executives the most.
@ThePenOfEli Totally agree. Its on the NFL to fix an unintended loophole. Ian Cunningham was highly sought after. The Bears developed him extremely well, gave him an important role, praised him publicly, let him interview. This is exactly what comp picks were intended to reward.
@GBraggsJr23 If they don't reward the Bears picks, it makes it easy for teams to create BS jobs for ex players with no experience. They get a titular title. They just chat with owners, do press conferences, and get to bypass all these rules set up to help minority candidates.
If the Bears get no picks for Ian, then teams will create "CEO of Football" job for former players with no front office experience to sit around the building and talk to the owner. Then bypass every comp pick and minority rule keeping teams from being able to block interviews.
Jahdae Walker needs targets. Notice that he's an absolute clinic of a hands catcher. Nothing is more annoying then NFL WRs that let the ball get into their body, try to basket catch, or the worst: jump to catch balls that aren't over their head.
Its a real bummer because when DJ makes plays, he's great. Runs hard. Trucks people. I think he really wants to win. But either he gets tired or just doesn't have that drive to be 100% effort that you need to be a champion. JT has been pointing this out since he got to the Bears. It happens on a lot of plays that most people don't notice. I believe we'll move on from him and go with the young core.
Bears fans, As loud as you were for opening day this year, as much energy as there was in the stadium, do you think Sunday you will be even louder when we rock the anthem for the @ChicagoBears vs @RamsNFL game? I bet so and I canโt wait!! #gobears#beardown
@BarstoolBigCat@scar179nyc The fact that packers fan keep crying about this is leading to incredible enjoyment for Bears fans. I donโt think they you realize how weak this makes them look.
@bepryor Most beat reporters are asking stupid, cringey bait questions designed to elicit an angry response from the coach and go viral, hoping you get enough followers to start your own podcast. 20 seconds to be nice isn't the worst thing.
Packers fans keep making it seem like Bears got lucky. But lets talk about 3 fumbles that all bounced back to the Packers. Watson, Jacobs and that OL pass. Technically the Packers were the lucky team. They just got punched in the 2nd half by a Bears team that never quits.
I liked Ben when he was hired. And he's made statements all year that I've never heard from a head coach. Yet, he still keeps saying and doing things that just put me in awe. This is going to go down as a legendary moment for this team. Fuck the Packers!!
During training camp, Bears players watched the film from Falcons-Patriots Super Bowl when Atlanta was up 28-3 before New England came back to force OT and win 34-28. Both left guard Joe Thuney and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett were a part of those teams and gave their perspectives on how the game went down from both sides on how a game can change when it looks like it's all but over.
Ben Johnson: "That was my message to the group (tonight), just reminding them that this has been done before. And rather than saying 'whoa is me and oh crap, we're in a hole' it's more, this is a great opportunity for us to turn this thing around into a game that we'll never forget. And that's what they did."
Caleb may have thrown one of the craziest 4th down completions I've ever seen in a big game. 20 years from now there won't be a single human being ashamed of getting beat by the Iceman when they watch what he does in the NFL.
@kfishbain 40+ years as a Bears fan and this is beyond what I would have ever hoped for in a coach and QB. Maybe we are just getting rewarded for years of agony. What an amazing moment. They are a special team and I fully believe they can win any game.
I think we need a defensive rebuild but I also think Dennis Allen has to go. He just doesnโt seem to fit. He his game alone is just evidence that he canโt game plan
