Interesting thesis. I think you're right that smaller BTC miners are under growing pressure, squeezed by rising hashpower, slower price appreciation, and offchain adoption. Some will indeed pivot or exit.

But I wouldn't say BTC is being "sucked dry" by ETH. It's more of a structural divergence:

BTC remains the macro narrative asset — digital gold with unmatched monetary simplicity and immutability.

ETH is evolving into the backbone of onchain economic activity, with staking, stablecoins, tokenization, and cash flow.

So yes, some BTC mining revenue might flow into ETH staking/DeFi, but not because ETH replaces BTC — it's because the roles are diverging.

Also, a 51% “profitability attack” feels highly unlikely. The economic incentives for large miners (especially public companies) still align with BTC’s long-term security and stability. Risking that would tank their own balance sheets.

In short: we’re seeing a reallocation, not a collapse. BTC and ETH are growing into different, complementary lanes.
