I have a serious question for anyone at the Office of the Secretary of the Navy or the Department of War. Why are underway Sailors at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia, many of whom are currently deployed to the Middle East for combat operations against Iran, required to pay $80 per month to the Navy Exchange (NEX) - a retail chain meant to support Sailors and their families which is owned and operated by the U.S. Navy - just to store their cars inside an overgrown, nonsecure, fenced lot? If Sailors decide not to park in the lot and leave their car anywhere else on base, they risk having their car towed, impounded, and in some cases auctioned off. How does this support our Sailors, many of whom are already struggling financially? Can something please be done about this? @SECNAV@USNavy@DeptofWar@DOWResponse@PeteHegseth
Love Popeyes chicken but I am am having a hard time understanding some practices they and other restaurants do today. I recently looked on line and seen they had a 9 piece family meal for $20.00 which included a side and four biscuits, which is a pretty good deal today. When I got to the drive up window menu board all that was offered close to that was an 8 piece meal for $28.99. I asked the worker and was informed that the $20.00 9 piece meal had to be ordered on the mobile app. So I had to pull out of line and order the 9 piece meal on my phone and then get back in line to get my order. My question is why is it necessary to order on the mobile app to get this deal and others like it. Same restaurant, same chicken, just makes no sense to me. Why do restaurants do this?
“The first step in a fascist movement is the combination under an energetic leader of a number of men who possess more than the average share of leisure, brutality, and stupidity. The next step is to fascinate fools and muzzle the intelligent, by emotional excitement on the one hand and terrorism on the other.”

Immigrants are a critical part of the U.S. workforce and play a key role in strengthening Social Security’s finances.
We can afford to deliver earned Social Security benefits through the rest of the century if billionaires pay their fair share!

Tennessee residents, even country music star Brad Paisley, are rallying against a proposed 70,000-square foot data center that would be built just feet from the Nashville Zoo — potentially exposing over 3,000 animals to noise, fumes and bright lights.
Hawaii just passed the first state law in the country banning corporations from making political donations in state elections.
Now a Koch-backed legal group is suing to overturn it.

The "One Big Beautiful Bill" included a $6,000 enhanced tax deduction for seniors. Republicans sold it as a gift — a little something extra for people who earned it.
On June 10, 2026, the Social Security Trustees released their annual report, and the receipt finally came due.
When the fund empties, the law triggers an automatic 22% cut to every check — roughly $500 a month for the average beneficiary, hitting 70 million Americans.
Speaker Mike Johnson, two days before this report dropped, called Social Security an "entitlement" that needs to be "adjusted."
They called it a gift, but in reality it's a robbery.

We can afford to protect and expand Social Security through the rest of the century.
All it takes is for Congress to pass legislation that scraps the cap and makes the wealthiest pay their fair share!
MAGA Republican mayor of Pollock, Louisiana arrested on ‘Peeping Tom’ charge.
The Olla police chief issued a warrant for Douglas Beavers’ arrest after an incident involving a juvenile in Olla, stemming from when he was employed as a school coach and allegedly peeped on an underage child in the gymnasium bathroom.
Not all pedophiles are MAGA, but all MAGA are pedophiles.
My daughter stopped speaking to me for two years.
Last month, she showed up at my door holding a thick folder of printed emails.
They were all from my email address.
Cold. Distant.
"I'm busy."
"Maybe next time."
Missed birthdays. Unanswered messages. Excuses that made it sound like I didn't care.
But I never sent any of them.
Her father — my ex — had been logged into an old email account of mine for years.
He replied as me.
Every cold response she received. Every rejection. Every time she thought I was choosing not to be her mother.
She spent two years believing I didn't want her.
When she arrived at my door, she was shaking.
I didn't explain right away.
I just stepped aside and let her in.
We sat at the kitchen table for four hours.
I showed her the emails I had actually sent.
She showed me the ones she had received.
Years of messages that never matched.
Years of conversations neither of us knew were being rewritten.
By midnight, neither of us had many words left.
She slept in the guest room that night.
Then the next night.
And the next.
She's still here.
We can't get those lost years back.
But for the first time in a very long time, we're finally starting from the truth.
