My office has asked for an urgent evaluation of this intersection to focus on physical protections. I've also requested increased enforcement against vehicles parked illegally in bike lanes. We must ensure our communities are safe, with secure streets and protected journeys.
Remember, when walking, face traffic. You’ll have a better view of approaching vehicles and more time to move out of the way of a possible distracted driver. #LockEyesSaveLives
@Bee_Bailey Brittany I'm so sorry this was inflicted on your family, for the rage and fury you're forced to experience and for Brian's broken bones. Glad the little one is okay.
This is really depressing but if you live in California you can take solace in knowing we rank deadlier than all 13 states that are actively accommodating for more deaths in their goals
Your friendly annual reminder that we still let states set their own pedestrian/cyclist fatality targets, and a whole lot of them pick numbers that are *higher* than previous years' actual death totals, to depressingly predictable results. https://t.co/ZBgav1sMJU
@LeahSchaperow@SANDAG@CityofSanDiego @iCommuteSD @BikeSD@portofsandiego Encountered that tonight! It goes on for wayyyyy longer than necessary and doesn’t seem like the event needs to include the path with how much space and grass they have
Whoever told me Apple Maps was better for biking owes me an apology after it guided me on this “multiuse trail” coming back from the Mojo game last night
“There is no serious academic research showing that building sizable numbers of housing units, almost exclusively at the high end of the market, makes housing more affordable over a time period relevant for current residents.” https://t.co/T4eIh35zH8
@ride_sd@SageOlson Is there any reason for it to have a stop on the east side of the tracks? Have almost missed a flight because an already late shuttle got stuck for crossings BOTH to the stop and from it
@Coleen4SD Not that I could see, police already there but one car seemed like it was going to be in the intersection until being towed. These are dangerous pedestrian intersections but surprised cars collided fast enough to disable one
@paulkruegersd@matthewswspence@CityofSanDiego@SDCityCouncil The units are allowed to be moderate-income affordable. Meaning be priced at 30% of a salary that's 110% of AMI. They are still sorely needed even if they aren't affordable for all, and they aren't going to solve the housing crisis on their own.
@matthewswspence@paulkruegersd That’s Zillow! Couldn’t see a way to filter by year built on Redfin. To be clear my point was that the deed restricted ADUs are definitely below market and providing much needed housing in San Diego. Paul is a notorious local NIMBY arguing in bad faith
Advocates say AB 2560 would provide much needed housing; opponents say it wouldn’t change the status quo. What I’m hearing is no downside to passing the bill?
POSTPONED. City transportation staff is unable to make this time but we are working with them to reschedule the event for the second week of April. Stay tuned!
