It’s #WorldDownSyndromeDay! And as we celebrate, it’s important to reflect on today’s theme #InclusionMeans. For us, it means creating equitable opportunities ensuring true participation of all. #RockYourSocks 🧦
@sherymono@jaleel_aa Thanks for sharing your thoughts Shery! On WDSD we wear colorful socks bc persons with DS have an extra copy of their 21st chromosome, and chromosomes look a lot like socks! We wear mismatched pairs to show that we embrace the differences & accept them as equals in our community.
21st March is marked as World Down Syndrome Day. Have you joined the #rockyoursocks social media campaign by wearing different socks? You may also get in touch with @BeautifulEyesMV to check how you can help them. Thank you.
This #WorldDownSyndromeDay, let’s be reminded that individuals with Down syndrome have the right to be accepted and included as equal members of our community. 💙💛
