Beaver Boy is a biodiversity mad farmer replicating the power of the Beaver on his land and observing. Some say he's half human, half large semi-aquatic rodent.
A brilliant few days at @groundswellaguk. @evabishop from the @BeaverTrust said nearly all the farmers were pro beaver.
All 8000 farmer here are pro biodiversity including the 150 on the tree walk.
More farmers than you think are #beaverbelievers

@gow_derek phew, I know exactly what you mean. Not sterile here but i think we'd pass the sniff test.
For what its worth... low stress cows less likely to get tb and grazing longer swards reduces chance of ingestion of contaminated material, well those are my theories and seems to work 🤞
@DogImaginary @KneppWilding Thanks, had the pleasure of visiting again in the spring to enjoy the Nightingales. Had missed that podcast but will defo listen. The Wilding film is 1st class if you've not seen it 👍
Although if @SteveReedMP /@JanetHughes /@DefraGovUK could make a ‘grazed mosaic landscape payment’ it would be a game changer for nature.
Please please please.
It would mean so much to so many, both to farmers and to all the creeping, crawling, flying, walking, growing things.
@HerbertNickel Much harder to use sheep as a tool for good. It can be done but takes far more skill. Cow can relatively easily be managed for positive outcomes.
@powell_peter @WelshDeeTrust Buffer zones are the best, but the occasional targeted use of a bovine may still be a good thing to increase biodiversity?
@JackPerksPhoto I like my itwit but would never spend another £ in @DecathlonUK after learning that thier European shops do/did sell equipment for shooting songbirds!
Kycat is what I'd like a go on - inflatable catamaran kayak
Beaver survey results in Kent and Devon.
Outside of the River Otter and licensed enclosures, little is known about the distribution and population size of beavers living wild in England.
