There are three statues a block away from a nationally prominent hospital I used to work. Not a single person who I asked knew who they were.

Learning language for education &/or liturgy uses and OCCASIONAL parlance (Hebrew) is not a “mother tongue” a group uses for everyday communication (Aramaic).
Diderot & Voltaire both were educated in & knew Latin, but they use French when they talked.

Sure, they all likely knew Hebrew, but it doesn’t follow, by default, two Jews, when alone spoke only in Hebrew.

A LITURGICAL language is not a “mother tongue.”
His mother tongue was what one uses to SPEAK with family and friends.
Hebrew was ONLY for synagogue & literacy, not communication.
Jesus was probably more CONVERSANT in Greek, though He may have been more “learned” in Hebrew.

But Voltaire & Diderot did not speak to each other or others in Latin. They used French.
And, while French is FROM Latin, like Hebrew and Aramaic, they are not mutually intelligible.
