On this solemn day, my heart aches with both the joy of remembering my beloved son Rohith and the pain of his absence. As Rohith's mother, I carry his memory with me every day, cherishing the moments we shared and mourning the dreams he could not fulfill. Yet, amidst the sorrow, I find strength in his legacy—a legacy of resilience, courage, and unwavering commitment to justice. On his birth anniversary, I vow to continue the fight for the causes he held dear, to speak truth to power, and to strive for a world where no mother suffers the loss I have endured. Happy birthday, my dear Rohith. Your light continues to guide us, even in the darkest of times.
We celebrate those who speak truth to the power, their resilience, and their resistance to every unconstitutional impulse in our society. #JanaGanaMana#ReclaimIndia#RepublicDay2024
Today, we stand against the sheer magnitude of the destruction caused by the right-wing fascist forces that are trying to tear apart the social fabric of our nation. We demand constitutional safeguarding of the rights of all the marginalised communities in our country
Since yesterday, I have been receiving two types of phone calls.
Firstly, people across India, particularly Muslim freelance journalists, are reaching out to inform us about Hindutva violence in their neighborhoods, urging us to report on it. Despite the fear in their voices, they trust that @MaktoobMedia will courageously cover hate crimes.
Secondly, I am receiving abusive and threatening phone calls, often concluding with the war cry 'Jai Shri Ram.'
We take pride in not aligning ourselves with the media's celebration of jingoistic nationalism and blatant Islamophobia.

The move to revoke Article 370 is a dismissal of the Kashmiri voice in deciding their future. Solidarity with them is also about recognizing their struggle, the human rights violations, and the psychological toll of living under constant surveillance.
