FYI, coming back from 3 business days away from work to FOUR emails about the same review request is excessive and not likely to make me want to provide free labor for your journal.
I'm seriously considering starting a journal called "Descriptive Epidemiology" that just publishes well-done descriptive papers since existing biomedical journals don't seem to value those AT ALL. Do better, existing journals!
@_ACDennis I think the tricky part is going to be figuring out how to make it 💯 open-access, without charging authors anything to publish in, while compensating reviewers and editors for their time…
@kxlim Find the time of day during which you write best, and use it. For me, it was after dinner (with a glass of wine) until bed. I rarely wrote during the actual work day.
My 2nd dissertation paper is out! In this paper, I get around journal word limits by putting 2 pages of introduction and a paragraph from the discussion in the supplementary material! https://t.co/5WS2suFMD7
@ami_sedani @societyforepi@CAUSALab Remember to hydrate! These types of events keep the coffee flowing, and you may go out for drinks at the end of the day; it's very easy to get dehydrated!
Today, my mom tried to use my European washer/dryer machine and 1) washed her clothes w/o soap, 2) dried her unwashed clothes, 3) dried her clothes w/ soap, 4) successfully washed her clothes w/ soap, 5) re-washed her clothes w/o soap before finally 6) drying her clothes.
