Para este reporte seguimos un marco de epidemiologia descriptiva para diseñar e implementar nuestro análisis. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. @leskocar@edwardsjk@ProfMattFox https://t.co/I8jpcnayTM
My first podcast!👇 Chatting to @ProfMattFox & @haileybanack about Chapter 22 of Modern Epidemiology (4th edition), on time-to-event analysis. Good fun🙂
Covid at-home test: $25
Minimum wage: $7.25/hr
So, 3 1/2 hours of work at minimum wage to afford an at home test. That’s half a day’s earnings.
Free public testing: 2 1/2 hr wait in line
That’s $18 lost wages assuming someone can take off work to stand in line.
Again, this is about the white power structure seeking to reify itself & find compromise between its most extreme & moderate factions when faced with increasing pressure to allow the birth of multiracial democracy. This is at least the 4th time we’ve gone thru this in the USA
The ongoing history of Black & Indigenous resistance to white settler colonialism is actively suppressed to maintain a narrative that white colonizers granted us freedom & that we must peacefully petition them via the system they established if we hope to achieve racial equality.
We cannot honestly address US public health, pandemic preparedness, or biosecurity without confronting how our shameful system of mass incarceration––25% of world's incarcerated with only 4% of global population––undermines health & safety for everyone.

@SpireSec I’m not sure I agree that the risk is much higher with familial contact. We spend lots of time with family in close contact so the risk is higher because of time. But per contact, what’s the evidence that familiar contact is higher risk?
