Canadian artists deserve recognition for their musical talent and abilities. Music outlets in Canada can support these artists by creating a quota that plays a certain percent of Canadian artist songs, validating the Countries appreciation of local artists and musicians. #MUS2011

@NathanRMacNeil Yes Nathan, very true! How often is it that we hear Candian pop songs on the radio? I find many global popular songs are American, in which the radio overplays anyway.. so there is room for change. #MUS2011

Nothing compares to your favorite artist live. Musicians that cover other peoples music can be very talented, hype a crowd and create momentum, but they rarely can replace the sound of the original. Dancing to your favorite records are better than covers live. #MUS2011

@NathanRMacNeil Very true!! Being with others while enjoying music live is an additional and wholesome experience that comes with live covers, but nothing compares to the vocally original records. #MUS2011

Ray Charles fluctuation in sound projects his emotion through song. I believe the natural transitions in his voice distinguish his unique sound. Ray utilizes this to connect his listener's. Blues songs can have a soul-stirring sound similar to Ray's that convey feeling. #MUN2011

@NathanRMacNeil I agree Nathan, I feel that music is completely an extension of myself that helps me express my emotions. There is nothing that beats driving by yourself with your favorite tunes playing. #MUS2011

@TashnahD I understand what you mean Tashnah, music can be a voice for people who aren't heard. #MUS2011

Us Consumers*

[Becca Clarke @BeccaClarke16]

The music industry projects unrealistic desires for the perfect body image through music videos and social media. The false need to look flawless takes away from focusing on why music is popular in the first place. Consumers become passive when we look instead of listen. #MUS2011

@ZacharyNash7 Zachary, I could not agree more. I find myself pressured to know popular songs because they play at various get-togethers or outings. It is with hesitation that I play the true electronic music I enjoy around many of my peers because it is not what most listen to. #MUS2011
