Today we’re hosting a parliamentary reception for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, where we'll be addressing the inequalities of access to movement.
We’ll be highlighting how too many people are denied the chance to do things that are good for their mental health due to living with a long-term health condition or disability, financial strain, and inequality.
We need to ensure that people living with these additional barriers are adequately supported, as well as address the root causes of poor mental health, if we are to achieve good mental health for all.
Research shows that animal-assisted therapy has a range of benefits:

🐱 Mitigates loneliness and fosters companionship
🐾 Boosts self-esteem and self-efficacy
