The @NCottonCouncil is projecting 8,990,000 total cotton acres planted in 2026. All regions projecting acreage reductions except the Southwest, projected 1.6% increase.

NCC acreage survey, conducted mid-December, suggests 9.85 million acres of US cotton in 2024. NCC Economist Dr. Jody Campeche noted that cotton-to-corn price scenario would suggest higher plantings.

Cotton prices have caught up to competitive crops (soybeans and corn) since Cotton Grower and NCC acreage surveys were conducted. He expects more US cotton acreage than we projected.
