Hi @jidesanwoolu, @hanneymusawa
I'm deeply disappointed in your @lirs_govng team hounding Selar in the name of claiming creator royalty taxes. I turn 30 in Oct and I've spent the last 10 years building Selar, so this is what the youth mean by policies being created to crush growing businesses. We are the pioneering and largest creator company in Nigeria (Africa actually), and instead of being supported by the government, the LIRS team is keen on trying to scapegoat us to set a precident.
Beyond the huge numbers seen in the headlines, we are still a young company just trying to make our mark for the creator economy in a country where we've never been supported once, we're literally a bootstrapped company. In 2025 alone, we've fulfilled our tax obligation in almost 9 figures and we've never missed out on any of our tax obligation over the years. You can check the records.
We are a software company, we make our ecommerce software available to our thousands of creators in not just Nigeria but 13 other African countries and for that, we earn a small commission of 4%, most of which goes to our payment provider. This is the same business as shopify, teachable, e.t.c There is no reason LIRS is hounding us for a backdated 5% royalty fee on all sales when we've clearly explained our line of business to them and shared everything to prove we are not a royalty based business.
What they're asking us to do is raise our pricing to extort these funds from our creators which is odd considering our creators still pay taxes on their income. No creator company in the world charges as high as even 5%.
Also, less payment gateway charges we get 1-3% max, so where do we pay backdated 5% fees from?
The government would have to decide if it wants the Nigerian creative economy to grow or not.
This conversation is important to me because we pioneered this industry of monetizing digital products online in Nigeria and today we host over 400k creators selling using our platform.
This is an opportunity for the government to show it's committment to making Nigeria work for young Nigerians especially in the creator economy.
Time and money we should be spending investing into our business and it's growth for the GDP of this nation is being spent in long back and forth.
We can't catch up with the west if this is what we're facing at home. Above everything else, disputes like this are distracting from the real work.
If anything, for all our CSR contributions to the education system in the country with our Smart Hustle Anti fraud initiative and our other efforts, we should be getting tax rebates, but we're not even asking for anything but to be left alone to build our business.
Thank you.
For the ladies, here is how to shop for quality hairs on Temu.
I haven’t shopped on SHEIN so you can only try this when it comes to Temu.
I have gotten bad hairs, so trust me.
Will hold you hands so you don’t make mistakes
P.S : do not buy the wig highlighted below, remove if you’ve added it to your cart.
That’s why they end up with shiny, tangled wigs that look nothing like the pictures.
1. Bone Straight Wigs
Instead search:
• 100% Human Hair
• Virgin Human Hair
• HD Lace
• 13x4 Lace Front
• 13x6 Lace Front
• Pre-plucked Hairline
• Single Donor Hair (if available)
• Brazilian Straight
• Vietnamese Hair (usually silkier and thicker)
• Burmese Hair (fuller texture)
If it doesn’t clearly state 100% human hair, assume it’s blended or synthetic.
2. Curly Wigs
Search:
• Deep Wave
• Water Wave
• Jerry Curl
• Kinky Curly
• Afro Kinky Curly
• Loose Deep Wave
Look for customer videos.
Curly hair can look amazing in product photos but completely different after washing.
3. Bob Wigs
Search:
• Blunt Cut Bob
• HD Lace Bob
• Glueless Bob Wig
• 180 Density
• 200 Density
A high-density bob usually looks fuller and lasts longer.
4. Closure Wigs
Search:
• 5x5 HD Closure
• 6x6 HD Closure
• Glueless Closure Wig
These are beginner-friendly and easier to maintain than frontal wigs.
5. Frontal Wigs
Search:
• 13x4 Frontal
• 13x6 Frontal
• HD Lace
• Transparent Lace
• Bleached Knots
• Pre-plucked
More lace generally means more styling options.
6. Glueless Wigs
Search:
• Adjustable Elastic Band
• Wear and Go Wig
• Beginner Friendly
Perfect if you don’t want glue every morning.
7. Density
Search:
• 150% Density (natural everyday look)
• 180% Density (most popular)
• 200–250% Density (very full)
Higher density doesn’t always mean better.
Choose based on the look you want.
8. Lace
Search:
• HD Lace
• Swiss Lace
• Transparent Lace
Good lace melts into the skin better and looks more natural.
How I shop now:
• I read the hair material before I even look at the photos.
• If it doesn’t clearly say 100% human hair, I keep scrolling.
• I watch customer videos before I trust seller pictures.
• Videos don’t hide bad density or poor lace.
I read the lowest-rated reviews first.
That’s where people tell you if the wig sheds, tangles, or smells.
• I compare density, not just length.
A 30-inch wig with 150% density can look thinner than a 24-inch wig with 180% density.
• If the seller won’t tell you the lace type, density, or hair source, that’s a red flag.
Customer photos > product photos.
A good wig isn’t just about the length.
It’s about the hair quality, density, lace, construction, and honest reviews.
Thank youu.
This is now their 57th Day.
57 days of toddlers, children and teachers as captives of terrorists just because they want to school. The terrorists shot a teacher point blank and beheaded another.
We cannot continue like this is normal o! We cannot!!!!
First thing we need to understand with figures of speech is that context matters a lot.
Let me explain.
This will be quite lengthy, so skip it if you have a short attention span.
Euphemism: A polite substitution used to soften meaning. It is the use of a mild, polite, or indirect expression instead of one that may sound harsh, unpleasant, or offensive.
Examples:
She passed away instead of She died.
They let him go instead of They fired him.
The purpose of a euphemism is to avoid causing discomfort or offense through one’s choice of words.
Dysphemism: A harsh substitution used to intensify meaning or express disapproval. It uses a harsh, blunt, or offensive expression instead of a neutral or polite one. (Opposite of Euphemism)
Examples:
He croaked instead of He died.
Calling a house a “shack” or an old car a “heap of junk.”
These two figures of speech are not the focus because he used Peller as an example to illustrate the decline of education and the glorification of mediocrity. The best expressions to examine here are synecdoche and metonymy, which are often confused with each other.
Moving on.
Synecdoche is a figure of speech in which a part of something represents the whole, or the whole represents a part.
It is a special type of substitution. (Hold on don’t draw your conclusions yet.)
Examples (Part for the Whole):
All hands on deck. (Hands = sailors or crew members.)
There are many mouths to feed. (Mouths = people.)
Whole for Part:
Nigeria won three gold medals. (Nigeria = the Nigerian athletes.)
The school celebrated its success. (The school = the students and staff.)
Now for metonymy. It is a figure of speech in which you refer to something by the name of something else that is closely associated with it, rather than by its own name. Get it?
For example:
The White House announced a new policy.(The White House refers to the U.S. President or administration, not the building itself.)
The Crown will address the nation. (The Crown refers to the monarch.)
People confuse synecdoche and metonymy because they both involve substitution, but they work differently.
I’ve been seeing tweets saying it’s synecdoche and I don’t think some people understand the subtle difference. That’s where I come in.
The best way to understand them is this:
Synecdoche = inclusion (part–whole relationship).
Examples:
Hands = workers
Wheels = car
Heads = cattle or people
Metonymy = association (relationship by connection).
Examples:
Aso Rock = the Nigerian government
The Crown = the monarch
Nollywood = the Nigerian film industry
Synecdoche specifically depends on a part–whole relationship, whereas metonymy depends on any close association.
What do I mean?
Peller is known to be uneducated, so when ycee says “Peller culture,”
he is not saying Peller is literally a part of illiteracy as a whole. Instead, Peller has become associated with illiteracy because of his reputation as a known olodo.
That is metonymy.
It can only be synecdoche if Peller is presented as one member of a larger class, and the intention is for that member to stand for the entire class.
For example:
If he had said “Peller is the face of olodo culture in this country.”
Here, Peller is one individual standing for the larger group of illiterate people. Remember: part–whole representation.
So, in conclusion, “Peller culture” is best analyzed as metonymy because:
Peller’s name is being used because of its perceived association with the idea of illiteracy/glorification of mediocrity.
The name “Peller” becomes shorthand for the olodo uprising that ycee was criticizing.
He was not attacking Peller personally. Instead, he used Peller’s public image as a symbolic reference to a wider social issue. That is a metonymic use of the name.
You’re welcome.
An interesting point is that synecdoche is often treated as a subtype of metonymy because it is simply a more specific form of associative substitution.
Nigeria just replaced a 19-year-old identity law.
The NIMC Act 2026 was signed yesterday and almost nobody is talking about what it actually does to the infrastructure underneath your fintech product.
Let me break it down.
There's an hack for cold emailing that made me purchased an IPhone last year
The feature wasn't on my Tecno and Samsung as at then
Trust me, This same feature increases your Open rate
Can you guess the feature or would you be interested?

Pelumi Onifade’s DNA reveal is the best proof that the Lekki Massacre happened. It was state sponsored. They cleaned up dead people. And they continue to lie about it.
They killed the sorosoke generation.
I submitted a proposal on Monday that would see the possibility of using CRISPR-CAS13 to deliver siRNA vehicled drugs to the posterior section of the eyes. This could permanently end AMD and glaucoma.
This is definitely the work of CRISPR-CAS9.

This is now their 40th Day as prisoners and hostages of terrorists. 40 Days of Cold nights, no change of clothes, poor physical care, emotional trauma, abuse and constant fear! Ah!!😭😭😭. God!!!!
This is soul sinking!!! 40 DAYS!!!
"😭😭😭😭😭😭 17th June 2026 is exactly ONE YEAR I LOST MY BEAUTIFUL KIND HEARTED Elder Sister.
Uchechi Ugorji is a Wonderful Lady full of Life. Everyone that has comes in contact with her knows she’s very cool.
She got married into a Problematic Family that cut her Life short.
I Promised myself that I won’t talk about her life experiences till one year after.
BACK STORY
Uche got married to a Man called Onyeka Ugorji and on their wedding day, his Best Man told her “you don’t know what you’re getting into, I feel very sorry for you”.
NOTE: there was no courtship between them, it was a Pastor’s Wife that connected her to this evil man knowing his behavior that took her to her early grave.
8days after their marriage I came to the house to reconcile them due to women issues.
When Uche was Pregnant he was beating her and even starving her.
She’s comes to her parents house to stay whenever he beats her until he comes to apologize. Sometimes he wont apologized but parents will tell my sister to just go back and make peace no matter what 😭.
I tried to talk to her to leave the marriage for a while yet, he didn’t listen because of the church she belonged. Also her kids.
My parents will always say marriage is for better and for worst, he will change bla bla bla yet he didn’t.
Everyone around her advised her to leave but WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY made my dear sister endure til she died.
I can’t forget when she was still breastfeeding her ist child how he beat her and threw their son on the bed. while beating her, she was bleeding via mouth, ear, nose and mouth. we went to the police to report.
He sleeps with everything on skirt and my dear sister endured.
Onyeka was an irresponsible Husband and Father. He doesn’t provide for the family infact he lives in his Parents house. My sister shared same flat including kitchens with her Wicked Mum in-law that never cared about her. It was hell for her yet she endured.
Onyeka starved her and his kids of food, clothings etc.
You made her to start begging family and friends for money and help alll the time.
ONYEKA, you DISVIRGINED and RAPRED our 13years old Niece whenever my parents send her to your house to assist my dear sister not one not two but three times.
You threatened tlife away from that young girl telling her you will kill her aunty and us including her if she say a word!!!
The last one was when my sister caught you when you lifted my niece and threw her on the bed about to rape her again on your matrimonial bed.
ONYEKA, YOU ARE A DEVIL!!!
You still had the guts to come near our family house when no one was at home, picked my niece and took her to the hotel and give her 11 tablets to remove the pregnancy cos you found out she was pregnant.
We rushed this girl to a nearby Maternity and the Midwife said she couldn’t handle her and that we should take her to the hospital. My 14years old niece underwent D&C.
I called a lawyer and police officers and human rights that came to my house about this rape case and you ran!!
ONYEKA YOUR KARMA IS COMING SOON!!!
Even when my mum eventually saw you, she slapped you and was telling your mother that she will take it up, your mother a grand mum opened her mouth to say if you’re the first in the world to commit such.
You opened your mouth to constantly tell my sister is either she leaves your house alive or dead!! That marriage is not by force . I wished she listened.
Your Family is Cursed!!!
Now my sister is One Year gone, I have respected her memory and JUSTICES will be served.
ONYEKA YOU WILL SUFFER for all the pains you cost my sister and my family as a whole.
No one will saved You!
You went to China and left my Sick Dying Sister without money, food etc.
You threatened her not to change to another hospital until your return!
Ohhhh I tried to beg her to go to Simeon’s Hospital for proper care but no, she kept saying my husband said if I change hospital I shouldn’t come back to his house and that she doesn’t want any problem.
Dear Young Nigerians,
One lesson from the 2023 elections, particularly in Lagos, should never be forgotten.
In the period following the presidential election and leading up to the governorship election, we witnessed a troubling shift in public discourse. Conversations that should have focused on competence, governance, development, and the future of our nation were gradually diverted towards tribal sentiments, ethnic divisions, and unnecessary suspicion among citizens.
Many sincere and well-meaning Nigerians participated in these conversations without realising that they were being drawn into narratives carefully designed by others.
Throughout history, whenever politicians find it difficult to compete on ideas, performance, character, or vision, some resort to exploiting the fault lines of ethnicity, religion, and identity. Their calculation is simple: a divided people are easier to manipulate than a united people.
Today, I see similar efforts emerging again, sometimes in more subtle and sophisticated ways. Narratives are planted, amplified, and circulated, often by individuals who genuinely believe they are defending a worthy cause, without recognizing the broader agenda behind such campaigns.
Let me state clearly that Pastor Enoch Adeboye remains one of the foremost fathers of faith in our nation. For decades, he has consistently preached the virtues of peace, prayer, love, reconciliation, and national unity. Even when faced with provocation, his response has always reflected humility, restraint, wisdom, and grace.
At 84 years of age, it would be unfair for young and able-bodied Nigerians to transfer to him responsibilities that properly belong to them. The task of building a better Nigeria rests primarily on the shoulders of the younger generation. It is their duty to lead the conversations, champion the reforms, and drive the positive change our nation urgently requires.
We must be careful not to become instruments in the hands of those who secretly nurture division while publicly preaching unity. In most cases, their target is not the individual being attacked; instead, it is the person who is attacking. Their real objective is to weaken the bonds that hold us together as one people and one nation.
I therefore urge all young Nigerians: do not allow anyone to recruit you into hatred. Do not allow anyone to weaponise your ethnicity, your faith, or your admiration for respected leaders.
Question every narrative. Verify every claim. Follow the facts. Resist manipulation.
The Nigeria of our dreams can only be built by citizens who refuse to be divided, who choose unity over hatred, and who place our collective future above narrow interests.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
The arrest of the US-based Nigerian novelist, Professor Okey Ndibe, is uncalled for, unjustifiable and reckless. Another sad instance of Nigeria's permanent emergency I wrote about in an op-ed today.
The SSS should release Okey forthwith!
Just leaving an orphanage home, I spent the whole day with the kids, and I met the prettiest little girl with the most beautiful curly 4C hair I have ever seen.
She was abandoned close to a busy road. I watched her for a moment and could not understand how anyone finds the heart to abandon her. But a lot is happening in Nigeria today that have torn families apart and left children abandoned or in captivity.
This is the painful reality so many children face today in Nigeria.
Please, it’s Children’s Day. If you can, visit an orphanage home or IDP Camp. Give food items, books, toys, games, pay school fees, or simply show love in any way you can.
A little kindness can change a child’s entire world. These children need all the love they can get❣️.
Miserable children’s day.
Over 40 still missing in Oyo.
Kidnappers getting richer by the day - because our government allow children to be tortured and then reward the criminals with handsome ransom payments.
Citizens carrying on like we are not already in a battle for our lives.
Chibok Girls; The First Lady literally cried on live TV. She was even turned to a meme.
Yoruba children, Yoruba teacher beheaded; President and First Lady are celebrating APC primaries but you don’t see the issue because you are in Lekki & it’s not your nieces or nephews (yet).
