Our office recently announced that six people are facing felony charges for alleged Medicaid welfare fraud by billing for services that were never provided, costing Indiana and Hoosier taxpayers $10.9 million.
Boone County Child Abuse and Sexual Exploitation (CASE) Task Force has worked very hard, over many years, to protect our most vulnerable Hoosiers against some really horrible people. Children are safer tonight because of their work.
Boone County, IN – A coordinated undercover operation led by the Boone County Child Abuse and Sexual Exploitation (CASE) Task Force, in collaboration with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task
Force, has resulted in the arrest of 7 individuals accused of attempting to sexually abuse minors. (Watch the video to see who they are).
The operation focused on identifying and apprehending individuals who used digital platforms to target minors for criminal activity. Undercover officers engaged with suspects online by adopting various
identities. These interactions led to the arrest of several individuals who traveled to Boone County intending to engage in sexual activity with minors. As a result of the operation, 7 arrests were made:
• Corwin Suits, 38, of Greenfield, IN – Charged with Child Solicitation, Level 4 Felony; Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony; and Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony.
• Michael Frazier, 41, of Louisville, KY – Charged with Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony and Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony.
• Fredy Leonardo Tomas, 21, of Indianapolis, IN – Charged with Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 4 Felony; Child Solicitation, Level 4 Felony; Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 5 Felony; and Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony.
• Izzettin Candan, 30 – Charged with Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 4 Felony; Child Solicitation, Level 4 Felony; Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 5 Felony; and Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony.
• Devon Powell, 18, of Indianapolis, IN – Charged with Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor,Level 6 Felony
• Buhereri Nsengiyumva, 28, of Indianapolis, IN – Charged with Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 4 Felony; Child Solicitation, Level 4 Felony; Attempted Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 5 Felony; and Child Solicitation, Level 5 Felony.
