Swanked Out

I am a writer. I also belly dance, salsa dance, run, hike, and hug F(f)riends regularly. I live in Portland, OR; I love life!

@Beermojoe That's what the rest of it is for.

@landofthe80s Yes! And why was that cord SO stiff and janky? No matter how many years we had it.

Kurt Vonnegut's 8 rules for writing:
⁣
1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.⁣
⁣
2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.⁣
⁣
3. Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.⁣
⁣
4. Every sentence must do one of two things—reveal character or advance the action.⁣
⁣
5. Start as close to the end as possible.⁣
⁣
6. Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of.⁣
⁣
7. Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.⁣
⁣
8. Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.⁣

@ThatEricAlper Back that Azz Up - Juvenile. I don't particularly think it's an inherently "happy" song, but it gets me ultra-hyped and takes me back to a very happy time of my life.

@JYoGarver Oh, she's absolutely incredible! And hell yeah I'll read it whenever it comes out, too! And I actually haven't read Signature of all Things yet. But now I will 😁

[Swanked Out @BeckySwank]

@JYoGarver Have hope! She said she won't be releasing it RIGHT NOW. Perhaps when things calm down, it'll be released ❤️

@ThatEricAlper A mixtape that I spent hours toiling to get just right, with the least amount of commercial talk and the perfect combination of songs.

[Swanked Out @BeckySwank]

@Beermojoe @Swanky503 Sigh. Well at least you said it correctly.
