The U.S. Merchant Marine had the highest fatality rate of any American service in World War II. Roughly 4 to 4.5 times more dangerous on a per-capita death rate basis.

Hangar B is 1,072 feet long, 296 feet wide, and 192 feet tall — one of the largest clear-span wooden structures ever built. Constructed in 1943 for Navy K-ships of Squadron ZP-33 that patrolled the Pacific coast.
December 2025 winds tore open a major roof section. The Port is removing the damaged material starting early August. Private funds are still required for the local match, assessment, and next stabilization steps.
$50 covers materials for temporary weather protection on a section of the damaged area. Every dollar strengthens the case while options remain open.

After a busy weekend on the campaign trail, I want to take a moment to thank everyone helping with and supporting my effort to bring change to Oregon as the nominee for congressional district 1.

The Tillamook Air Museum was housed in a MASSIVE World War II era blimp hangar. In Dec 2025 the building was damaged in a windstorm & the bare bones repair is $1.5M. Sadly it looks like this might be the end for this museum... #Oregon #Tillamook #museum #travel

The American Heritage Museum's Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina has returned to flight following an extensive restoration led by American Aero Services. One of the first PBY-5A amphibians built, the historic aircraft is now considered one of the most historically accurate flying restorations of its type.
