@FarmInterlace@marktwain_nf@usfs_nrs@cafnr We'll be looking at species-level changes in plant community composition after 2022 summer data collection. Keep an eye out for those results!
@FarmInterlace@marktwain_nf@usfs_nrs@cafnr This project is still relatively preliminary, but our data has shown increased herbaceous cover (grasses, sedges, forbs), decreased woody cover (trees, shrubs, vines), and increased plant species richness. Importantly, nonnative cover has not increased.
"When we make a classification scheme to sort the kaleidoscope of #naturalcommunities into related patterns, we may end up earnestly talking about the classification scheme when we think we are still talking about natural communities" - J. Corbett, #Goatwalking (modified by me)
What role can #goats can play in #woodlandrestoration? That's what we're asking. Here is the head of #brushmanagement at our #Ozark woodland research area. We anticipate that he and his team will increase the abundance and diversity of herbaceous plants like this spreading aster
