I suffered a head injury and went to the medical deck while cruising on @RoyalCaribbean; the doctor on @wonderofthesea did practically nothing to provide help. I lost consciousness and he didn’t evaluate me for concussion…@RoyalCaribPR

My wife attempted to talk to guest services/the medical team to find out why I was treated so poorly; and she too was being dismissed and disrespected by various members of the staff; up to and including being hung up on by the “doctor” who treated me,

being told she should “call back tomorrow when you’re feeling better” (because she was upset after being given the run around for hours), and a general refusal to provide her with documentation of my experience and lack of proper medical attention.

BUT you will be quoted numerous times how much the “initial consultation” is and that it could be $38,000 if your injury is serious enough to warrant being airlifted off the ship.

This morning I wake up with blood on my pillow.

I wouldn’t suggest needing any professional medical attention while aboard @wonderofthesea - especially between the hours of 11am-4pm because they are closed and only life threatening (911) level emergencies might be addressed…

@Apple - I almost forgot about this post.. this #AppleWatch probably saved my life. Thanks to my heart rate notifications- I consulted my cardiologist and now I’m getting a pace maker!

@Apple Quick shout out to my Apple Watch for alerting me of my extremely low heart rate… I did the adult thing and followed up with a cardiologist …#yaddayaddayadda Guess who’s getting a brand new pacemaker!! Yay 😐 -But for real; you may have saved my life. 👍🏾

I wanna go on record as being the first (I think) to coin the terms TEXTILECT and TEXTIOLECT - a combination of TEXT & DIALECT/IDIOLECT -describes that thing we can pick up on when reading text messages that help us identify who we are talking to.
