Last month Mom died. 6 years ago I promised her she’d be cared for at home, safe, loved; it was a mother-daughter marriage that cost me my actual marriage.
Even so, the feeling of roaring, joyful relief in accomplishing my promise is the deep red velvet trim on my superhero cape.
