@KuKhahil What’s the Herro extension look like?
Would need to understand that before considering the trade.
I do really like Herro’s fit offensively but worry about him defensively at the highest levels of the playoff’s.
@13_JMAC I'm pro Jalen Duren and resigning him, but J-DUB has played well in the playoffs, was almost Finals MVP and has been voted to an All-NBA defense team.
Those are big differences in credentials.
@KuKhahil I get it. Who knows if he can bounce back and stay healthy.
I do think he profiles as the perfect #2 option, especially for our team with his 2-way play.
Heck, he was that for a championship team, one we seem to model ourselves after, just last year as a 23 year old.
@NBATRADERUMORS8 Everyone understands that and we appreciate the insight.
The pushback you are getting is because you declared Giannis to Miami a done deal previously.
@KuKhahil I agree (even if it’s technically 2 first and a swap) in that hypothetical trade.
I was more referencing your tweet on whether or not he’s a borderline top 10 player.
@Brady_Fred Especially an All-NBA talent that is only 25 years old and an excellent two-way player.
The soft tissue injuries is what gives me the biggest pause with this potential trade that would never happen.
@bigdogpistons1 Yeah, and just in case this was missed, I was showing the positive rating only on offensive production.
Once you add in defensive impact the team results are much better.
@KuKhahil@griff1on1 This is tough.
He'd be a really nice fit as a long term starting PF, but giving up real assets and committing to his salary (which is reasonable) alongside Cade/Ausar/Duren's contracts would make it very hard to get the #2 scorer/playmaker we need.
@KuKhahil@griff1on1 I’m w/Ku on Lavine being an interesting fit.
The fact JB has gotten THJ/Beasley/Duncan to maximize their defensive capabilities, plus Lavine bought into a defense/complimentary role on 2021 Olympic team gives me hope he’d do same with this squad.
@NBATRADERUMORS8 So what changed from your report earlier in the day that the Heat were lowballing offers and that Giannis would be unlikely to extend?
@KuKhahil This obviously isn’t a given but if he plays in the playoffs like he did this last regular season he’s definitely worth that contract, even if there’s no improvement in his game.
