I spent the night with friends in Toronto who have two small children aged 5 and 3 and I was appalled to discover that they pay $1500 a month in childcare even with a subsidy. This is unsustainable if govt wants to maintain and grow the middle class. #cdnpoli
@QuirksOfDating Turn the tables. Use it as an opportunity to observe how they are with their friends and how they treat you in the company of their friends. You'll be so busy observing you will have little time for nerves.
I’ve just finished my final therapy session. Here are the important things I learned.
1) people don’t cheat on you because you aren’t enough. It’s THEM not you.
2) people who have little respect for themselves and others are usually deeply unhappy
3) I am braver than I knew
The rule is that you don't ditch your friends for a guy, right? Does that rule still exist? Or does it change as you get older (and the pond dries up)? Do you have a right to focus on trying to make it work for a while?
@Kintsugi_girl I think that my closest friends it wouldn't matter for. Same as when one of them starts a new job, is looking for a new house, or goes back to uni, I am still there for them at the other side.
