Honoured to address the @EU_CoR Working Group on #Kosova meeting yesterday.
I used the opportunity to again thank Chair Gillian Coughlan, the members of the Group, and the entire Committee of the Regions for removing the asterisk and footnote on the name of the Republic of Kosova. I was deeply moved to see the Republic of Kosova flag proudly displayed during the meeting in this key EU institution.
These principled steps strengthen our partnership and bring Europe closer to its own values.
I also addressed the current state of EU-Kosova relations, highlighting recent positive developments and our clear vision for further deepening ties — including advancing Kosova to candidate country status.
As I stressed to the CoR: local authorities are at the heart of our shared European future.
Kosova is ready.
Following approval by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosova, I authorized the deployment of the Kosova Security Force to an international mission in Gaza. Kosova continues to grow as a capable state and a trusted international partner.
🇽🇰🇺🇸| Republic of Kosova fully supports the United States and President @realDonaldTrump in taking decisive, targeted action against the Maduro regime’s narco-trafficking networks and in holding state-backed enablers accountable.
These measures target criminal structures, not the Venezuelan people, who deserve freedom, democracy, and legitimate institutions. As a steadfast U.S. and NATO ally, Kosova remains vigilant against hybrid threats fueled by illicit finance and stands ready to contribute to international efforts to combat narco-terrorism and promote stability.
The Republic of #Kosova is grateful to Denmark for steadfastly advancing our EU integration & aspirations during its EU Council Presidency.
We warmly welcome the Cyprus Presidency & eagerly anticipate close cooperation ahead!
On #ChristmasEve, my warmest wishes to everyone celebrating Christmas. May these days bring you good health, peace, and joy, and may your home be filled with warmth and harmony.
Merry Christmas, with warm greetings from #Kosova❤️

Kosova has just been categorized in Group A of the World Bank's GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI), placing us among the countries with a high level of digital maturity.
Today's results demonstrate the significant advances we have made over the past three years, across 48 key indicators, catapulting Kosova from Group C in 2020 and Group B in 2022, to our current Group A status.
We look forward to building further on this progress in the coming years.

Kosova's passport continues to rise in the global rankings. According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, we now stand at No. #65, up from No. #108 in 2021. This progress reflects Schengen visa liberalisation and sustained, disciplined diplomacy with partners worldwide. Greater mobility for our citizens. Stronger international standing for our Republic.
Proud to see Kosova's passport growing stronger with every passing year, improving three places in the 2025 Henley Passport Index compared to last year's ranking. Our passport now ranks as the 65th, a dramatic increase from the 108th position it held in 2021. Global mobility is essential to our country's progress, opening the doors of education, culture, and trade. Our Government will continue to work to secure visa-free travel for Kosova's citizens to more countries around the world.

Serbia’s act of aggression against the Republic of Kosova on September 24, 2023, has raised the alarm across NATO, U.S., the EU, and the West.
The Vucic regime’s attempts to manipulate the truth are right out of the Moscow playbook: like his ally Lavrov, the Serbian foreign minister is unsuccessfully trying to cover up the 2023 aggression that was planned, trained, organized and financed by Serbia. The evidence laid out in the indictment in the ongoing trial is overwhelming.
Like Moscow, Serbia is not retreating from its aggression and its lies. On top of that, it is hosting and protecting the top terrorist who publicly claimed responsibility as commander of that military aggression.
In fact, Kosova and its government are among the most pro-Western in the world, with about 90 percent support in favor of NATO and the U.S.. The bond between Kosova and the United States is as rock-solid as the bond between Serbia and Russia.
Vucic’s propaganda machine has led to Russia’s Putin and China’s Xi being most popular foreign leaders. The recent upheaval of hundreds of thousands in Serbia is proof that even the Serbian people are revolting against Vucic and his regime.
While Vucic’s foreign minister keeps telling Lavrov-style lies, Serbia is deepening even military ties with Russia and China, while Vucic is calling Western representatives “scum”.
Banjska was not an incident. It was a systemic part of what Vucic’s Serbia, with the backing and guidance of Putin’s Russia, has become in the midst of Europe: a serious military threat. It’s time to deal with it appropriately before it is too late.
It was a pleasure to welcome Peter Sørensen, the EU Special Representative for the Kosova-Serbia Dialogue.
We discussed recent developments, the situation of non-majority communities, particularly the Serb community, and the path toward full implementation of the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid Annex.
I shared details of the government’s continued support to Serb-majority municipalities, especially in the north, including job creation and institutional integration. Since April 2024, over 800 citizens have been employed through a government-initiated program, and more than 430 new businesses have been registered since the beginning of last year. Since November 2022, around 200 new Serb police officers have joined the Kosova Police.
I also raised concerns about ongoing threats from Serbia's leaders and the arbitrary arrests of Kosova citizens transiting through Serbia, and called for a strong international response.
#DUALIPA with every Sunny Hill, you show the world the best of 🇽🇰, its presence, its pride, its music and its sense of belonging. Thank you for carrying that with such grace and staying true to where it all began. Faleminderit pafund! ❤️
🇽🇰 Kosovo won multiple medals in science, coding, and mathematics at the International STEM Olympiad in Barcelona.
The usual suspects attempted to cause a scene during one of the awards ceremonies.

Happy Independence Day to all Americans. Today marks a celebration of the Declaration of Independence, a document that has inspired countless acts of courage and the ongoing pursuit of freedom. The values enshrined in the Declaration resonate more than ever in a world facing heightened threats to global security. We in Kosova are grateful for the enduring friendship that has only grown stronger through the many stages of our country’s journey. From our struggle to end genocide, through our own declaration of independence and state-building efforts, the United States has consistently stood as a steadfast ally by our side. Today, as a thriving democracy, we are proud to contribute to this partnership. Areas such as military cooperation, foreign policy, and economic collaboration, among many others, continue to deepen the bonds between our countries.
Today I visited Alketa Xhafa Mripa's "Thinking of You" at the @coe - a striking reminder of the courage of survivors and the urgency of justice. Grateful to Alketa for giving a voice to those silenced for too long. Kosovo stands with all survivors still waiting to be heard.
