Come join my research group in Bonn @Leibniz_LIB & @UniBonn on an @ERC_Research-funded PhD position to study population dynamics of the fascinating germline-restricted chromosome of songbirds. You can DM @yfpei and me for questions.

20 years ago I started my Phd and read Bascompte et al. 2003 PNAS on the prevalence of nestedness for plant-pollinator networks. Today, we publish a pice confirming empirically (6 years of data across 12 sites) that the structure of interactions carries predictive power.
Let me tell you about our most recent publication, which was born from a conversation with @paucarazo after a "Journal Club". It took climbing four flights of stairs to the office for us to open our eyes and realize that we had come across something very interesting! ⬇️🧵(1/9)
Sexual selection can both aid and impede evolutionary rescue and has even been argued to drive species to extinction.
But how does the complexity of the environment affect the outcome?
Have a look at what we found here: https://t.co/O6OamadNqz

Now Claudia Londoño-Nieto @BehavEvolLab @ICBiBE_UV talks about how the seminal proteome of Drosophila melanogaster evolves in response to temperature #SESBE2024
We have an outstanding biodiversity in Spain and, in my opinion, Podarcis pityusensis is one the most beautiful endemisms we have. Recently, I have had the opportunity to work with this species in an exciting photographic project that combines science and conservation. More soon!
Truly honoured that "The fairy of the forests" is the Overall Runner Up in the @BritishEcolSoc photo contest. This image is part of my project "The unseen world", a photographic adventure that arises to highlight the need to preserve cave ecosystems. Congrats to all the winners!

@J_OrtegaGimenez @MSCActions Congratulations @J_OrtegaGimenez!! We are thrilled that you will be joining us in yet more fun collaborations with @StuartWigby!! We'll celebrate with paella!!
I'm thrilled to say that I've been awarded a @MSCActions fellowship to join @BehavEvolLab and study how sexual conflict evolves and operates in nature using wild D.melanogaster populations.

This week I learned about ME/CFS when I sent a 2-line email to my PhD advisor Joachim Hermisson. Me: “Hope you & your family are well. Could you send me your recent NatRevGen paper?” His reply: “Sure, paper attached. We are not well. One of my daughters is very sick.” 1/n
Even in crazy (and busy) days, there is always time for celebration. Thank you @BehavEvolLab for doing my birthday more special, you are great people!!
