@alaskalandmine Alaska democrats are closer to republicans than lower 48 democrats/republicans lol. Peeps even say that in the halls and bars of legislature? Why you acting like you don’t know this?
@DanSullivan_AK I’m constantly frustrated that you don’t support your fellow senator when she stands up for Alaska when you hide in the background. Def voting for Mary.
@DanSullivan_AK Where was this energy when Murkowski was pushing for the files? You said you supported transparency, then voted to table an amendment forcing an earlier release. You backed the standalone bill once it had overwhelming bipartisan support. That’s not leadership. #akleg
@speed_glenn69 You’re arguing with a caricature of me. I support RCV. I don’t defend every candidate, party move or outcome.
“People made the moves” is my point. If RCV caused those specific choices, explain the causal mechanism. Calling me a zealot isn’t an argument.
1/ Watching the current Alaska governor situation, I keep seeing all this chaos blamed on RCV.
But a lot of what we’re watching isn’t RCV. It’s candidates and political parties making strategic decisions about who should drop out or consolidate. #akleg
@NotThatMrsJones If you’re really scared about industry controlling elected officals where’s your takes on the oil industry, that already controls most the politicians already.
@speed_glenn69 You’re treating every bad candidate decision or weird election outcome as evidence against RCV. I see those as problems with the people and parties involved. “Managed slate” would require actual evidence of coordination.
@speed_glenn69@akbear162 You’re arguing against something I didn’t say. JKT’s donations are worth scrutinizing.
But “a legal disclosed donation may create influence” ≠ “APOC found the candidate failed the disclosure law.” Both can concern me without pretending they’re the same thing.
@speed_glenn69@akbear162 Exactly. That’s my point.
JKT: legal, disclosed donations you don’t like.
Taylor: actual questions about compliance with APOC disclosure/campaign-finance rules.
Those are not the same thing.
@MustReadAlaska Dunleavy and his admin have run the state to the ground and JKT seems to be the only safe choice for Alaskans. Look at how the republicans can’t work together that’s could be a sign of how their administration will work.
@speed_glenn69@akbear162 I’m fine scrutinizing JKT’s Outside donors. Are you equally concerned when APOC actually finds a candidate failed Alaska’s financial-disclosure requirements?
Trump lauded @SenDanSullivan & disparaged the other Dan Sullivan.
Petersburg Dan Sullivan said he was out mushroom-hunting and hadn’t heard what the president of the United States said about him. (He later sent a pic of a dozen fresh chanterelles)

@DanSullivan_AK Sullivan said he supported releasing Epstein records, then voted in Sept. 2025 to table an amendment compelling release. The final law later passed by unanimous consent. Alaska’s reported grape rate is ~3.3x the U.S. grate. This should be treated as more than partisan procedure.
@akbear162@speed_glenn69 Right. I don’t need my president to be morally perfect. But maga says character, marriage, truth, protecting children, personal responsibility, and the rule of law matter. Then turn around the same people can suddenly decide none of those things matter if it doesn’t fit Trump.
@speed_glenn69 Call the whole system RCV. It doesn’t change my point. I prefer voters sorting out imperfect candidates over parties narrowing our choices for us. You see Top 4 as the problem. I don’t. That’s the disagreement.
@speed_glenn69@akbear162 That’s an argument against Top 4, not ranked choice voting. I’m fine debating whether four is the right number to advance. But once November gets here, I still prefer ranking the choices myself over having the parties narrow them down for me first.
@Project_J0EL@NickforAlaska@GunOwners Glad we’re getting updates on endorsements, but can we also get an update from our congressman on the Epstein files?
Nick voted for the first transparency bill. Will he support the current effort to force another vote and if so, why isn’t he being more vocal about it?
