The Minnesota Timberwolves are deeply saddened by the passing of Hall of Fame coach Rick Adelman.
Adelman served as head coach of the Timberwolves from 2011-14 and exemplified leadership, integrity and professionalism throughout his distinguished career. Serving as head coach for five teams over 23 NBA seasons, he became one of the game’s most respected and accomplished leaders, finishing 10th on the league’s all-time wins list. Adelman made a lasting impact on our organization, his players and the game of basketball.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to wife Mary Kay, the Adelman family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
This is the true revision. The important context to remember is the Gobert trade was finalized before the new CBA.
The second apron and its penalties weren’t a thing, and based on messaging from ownership there’s a great chance they intended to stay deep in the tax and the new CBA was likely a surprise.
We’ll never know for sure, but I strongly suspect they may not make that Rudy move if they foresaw the 2nd apron penalties that would intensify their expensive payroll.
It’s also really hard to argue with the success Minnesota has had with Rudy. I just feel there’s alot of revisionist history going on here and we’re not properly acknowledging the variables at play here.
Just an absolute JOKE @anthonyedwards didn’t get a waver to be eligible for @NBA honors this year. Anthony epitomizes WANTING to play. Doing what it takes to play. He doesn’t take “personal “ days. He shows up. He brings it. He missed some for injury. He didn’t miss 4 convenience
@HPbasketball Not a fan, but someone with an idea, lol. This is an insane take. If Gobert isn’t here wolves are scratching and clawing just to get into the playoffs and likely not winning rounds. Then all the discourse is: Ant can’t win in Minnesota. He has to leave.
Karl-Anthony Towns has been locked in on watching his former team, the Wolves, during the playoffs:
"I'm texting Ant, I'm texting Rudy, I'm texting those guys"
Lol, yes, obviously the Spurs, who have had the second best free throw differential in both the regular season AND the playoffs are just not getting a good enough darn whistle!
