Last night Nigeria got plunged into another total darkness from what appears to be yet another National Grid Power Collapse , probably the 4th since 2026 and still counting. No official government announcement. No Explanation. Nobody held to account. Business as usual continues.
Very sad breaking news : Presidential Business Council just named Lagos & 9 other States as Nigeria's top investment destinations & Rivers State, 2nd after Lagos from the 80s & 90s is not one of the ten! How low has the mighty fallen!
Rivers people arise & take back your State.
Enough of this democracy of Political Parties without any known Ideological Differences:
It is my humble position that none of the two main political parties in Nigeria: PDP, APC & those preparing for 2027 like the ADC,etc is designed or equipped to produce conscientious & honest leaders that can deliver sustainable economic growth & development for our people.
They all have ONE & only ONE purpose: to either retain or take over power by all means, which they then mostly use for personal enrichment, not for good governance. PDP, APC, ADC & the rest : they have no known philosophical or idealogical differences. Rather than develop our democracy along tested idealogical lines, upon which citizens can cast their votes, as it is practiced by the democracies we claim to have copied, these socalled politicians have succeeded in forcing our citizens to settle for ethnicity, religion, monetary inducement, electoral violence, results fabrication by INEC and reliance on judicial corruption, as the key factors of political contest & we the people, are still wondering why with 25 years of uninterrupted socalled civil democracy, Nigeria has continued to fare worse with every new government.
Wake up ! Nigeria!!
The creation of 12 additional States in Nigeria by the National Assembly & the President will further worsen the already shaky foundation of our Federation. We dont need this. What we urgently need is a constitutionally backed nationwide referendum to
a) formally re-adopt the existing States as the federating units or
b) arrive at a new set of federating units , derived from a thorough & transparent referendum process. Anything else will only worsen our problems.
Preparing to get 2027 right :
It doesn't take the crystal ball to foresee that lack of substantial credibility in the 2027 elections can irreparably destabilise the 4th Republic.
This NASS has less than 2 years to prevent this through the reform of our electoral laws.
One major area to reform:
All elections must be concluded, declared & released to national press, ONLY at the LGA levels nationwide .
No need to continue with the current fraudulent practice taking place at the socalled State & National Collation Centers.
The LGA election results released at the LGA collation centres & published nationwide by print & electronic media becomes the only official result which will form the basis of determining winners & losers because as each LGA result is announced, both the public & the media houses can do the basic maths of who is winning or losing . Both the Resident State Electoral Commissioners & the INEC Chairman, have no "jobs" to fiddle with these results, except to officially confirm the winner already so arrived at from the publicly declared LGA results.
The Benefits:
1) Communities at the LGA level will better organise themselves to protect their votes from being mutilated by election riggers.
2) The current disastrous level of results manipulation & fabrication in exchange for bribes by various agencies will be drastically reduced.
3) Election results in Nigeria will begin to earn the respect of other democracies which will reduce our sovereign risk profile, increase FDI, etc.
4) Our judiciary will get increasingly protected from wanton manipulation of desperate elections riggers who have already done so much damage to our justice system.
5) The public service space will increasingly become attractive to more genuinely qualified and capable Nigerians and this trend will gradually release our nation from the vice grip of political gangsters masquerading as public servants.

Nigeria-type Democracy:
Massive defections from Party to Party going on daily, yet not even one case seen where a would-be defector held any meeting with his or her constituency to arrive at the defection decision.
Question: Are these people truly elected by their constituents?
State of Emergency in Rivers State : The level of insecurity in the State today is far higher than before the declaration. This attack is no doubt a Tinubu Proxy War to cripple the economy of the S-South whilst boosting that of the S-West, using S-South Judases like Wike & Ibas.
S-South people, wake up ! before it gets too late !!
Breaking News :
State of Emergency declared in North Carolina because of an outbreak of wild mountain fires ravaging through the State.
Governor, Deputy Governor & State Congress not suspended.
But hold on here!....I thought our democracy was patterned after the US presidential-type constitution!
President Tinubu, please take the path of honour.Give another nationwide broadcast. Restore democracy in Rivers State. Sanction the person who desperately pressurised you to do this. Posterity will vindicate you.
Hear Minister Wike :
"The Ijaws are a minority of a minority & cannot win any Governorship election in any of the Niger Delta States except Bayelsa."
In 1999, without the blessing of the minority of minorities like Graham Douglas, Marshall Harry, Dikibo, Karibi Whyte , Dr Odili will not have been the chosen one. In 2014 without the blessing of minority of minorities like Dame Patience , Dr. Jonathan, Prince Secondus & Mr Etifa , Nyesom Wike could never have become Governor.
I now ask :
Minority of minorities, is it not about time that you begin to do for yourselves, what you've been doing for others ? Why should any of you be working against your own son today? How can you explain this to your children in future ? Let enough be enough.
I weep for my beloved Rivers State:
1) Gov. Fubara , duly elected and sworn-in, but instead of settling down to serve the people, has been fighting off desperate war-mongers hell-bent on impeaching him.
2) The billions used to fight the Governor mainly via use of federal might and judicial manipulation is looted money from the Rivers commonwealth.
3) The millions used to fend off the war-mongers by Gov Fubara via expensive legal costs is Rivers money, which could otherwise have been put to better use.
4) The irredeemable time being wasted on fending off these attacks, which could have been better used to rebuild our destroyed civil service, is precious Rivers people's time.
5) The heightening level of political and security tensions in the State, robbing us of our peace, is the peace of the Rivers people.
6) The economic opportunities lost to other States, via migration of businesses out of the State because of the perception of worsening insecurity are employment opportunity losses for Rivers youths.
I really weep for my beloved Rivers State.
Rivers people arise and liberate yourselves!!
The Rivers Political Crises:
By the very reckless judgements it pronounced, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, must accept full responsibility for any civil crises that erupts in the State. It is quite preposterous for the Apex Court which voided the last conducted LGA election in the State for non-compliance with some provisions of the enabling law, to now brazenly pretend ignorance of the long existing law which had automatically vacated the seats of the 27 assembly members, following their well documented public defection from their original Party. Its quite sad that those who grew up enjoying a sane Nigeria, are the ones doing everything possible to hand over a terribly dysfunctional Nation to the next generation.
Change back NDDC's name to OMPADEC which includes Southwest & Southeast States. No need to conflate NDDC with South-South Development Commission. Enough of taking the South-South for a ride.
The fate of INEC in the 2027 national Elections:
Without a shred of doubt, electoral fraud & it's related malpractices have become the greatest threat, both to our democratic journey and our national security. The United States whose presidential constitution & democratic framework we claim to have copied has no Federal Agency like INEC running their national elections. Sadly, in our case, since the 4th Republic, we've had Vice-Chancellors & serving University professors conducting elections on account of their presumed neutrality, yet most of them shamelessly continue to betray this sacred trust, colluding with desperate, crooked politicians to manipulate rules & declare false election results for personal gain, brazenly stealing citizens votes and forcing all sorts of leaders on us. I worry that a 2027 election conducted by the same weak electoral laws, the discredited INEC and its accomplices from the Universities could land our Nation into irreversible political crises. To be fore-warned !
Akpabio , SouthSouth Governors wake up as
Tinubu signs 5 Regional Dev. Commissions into law & leaves out the SouthSouth. I don't get it :
NNDC can't replace SouthSouth Dev Commission. NDDC is actually OMPADEC ( Oil Mineral Producing Areas Dev. Commission) which OBJ renamed NDDC with a coverage which included the South East & SouthWest regions. It cannot replace the SS Dev Commission. This will be injustice of the highest order. Akpabio , SouthSouth Governors wake up !!!
The continued senseless crises in Rivers State:
The idea that one individual, in pursuit of his self interest, can remotely yet openly direct 25 or 27 adults like puppet dancers to shut down the legislative arm of a State with the evil aim of collapsing the smooth running of the State under its duly elected Governor is totally insane and cannot in all honesty be the intention of any clause in the constitution or by-laws of a normal democracy anywhere in the world......and so for me to wake up to hear that a Judge who swore to uphold the good purpose of our laws in defense of overriding public interest, has ruled in favour of these puppets who lost their seats after their defection dance on national television and going as far as ordering stoppage of funding release to a bona fide federating unit , is even more insane.
Arise O Compatriots !
Our Nigeria rescue call obey!!....before this corruption-funded, bare-faced impunity raging to puppetize all our State institutions lead to a cataclysmic fall !!!
Is the Nigerian Democracy doomed ??
In the ongoing US presidential election, the candidates are competing for votes on the following ten major issues. Please someone tell me, even just three issues which drove any of the presidential elections in Nigeria since 1999?
I weep for my beloved Rivers State:
1) A Governor sworn-in but instead of settling down to serve the Rivers people, now forced to fend off desperate war-mongers hell-bent on dislodging him.
2) The money used to mobilize & maintain the army of desperate war-mongers is looted Rivers money.
3) The money used to fend off the war-mongers is Rivers money, which could have been put to better use.
4) The irredeemable time being wasted on fending off these attacks , which could have been better used to rebuild our destroyed civil service and also deliver long overdue development projects, is Rivers time.
5) The heightening level of political divisions & tension in the State , robbing us of our peace, is the peace of Rivers people.
6) The economic opportunities lost to our closest competitor, Lagos State, because of this kind of internal political crises is opportunities lost by Rivers State. Virtually all the oil companies have since moved their headquarters to Lagos from Rivers State.
I weep for my beloved Rivers State.
Being a "3rd World" Country, no longer an excuse for dysfunctional democracy:
Democracy is a product of western social evolution, tried and tested for centuries to land in its present form, which though the best form of government, continues to strive towards a better version everyday.
Nigeria, like other socalled 3rd or maybe now even 4th world countries, is lucky to have this well tested template upon which to build our own model and it is really quite unwise to argue that we should make the same mistakes they made, as a necessary learning process, when we can leapfrog on the back of their decades of corrected errors to build our own sustainable model !
In this regard, how do we explain that since 1999 Nigeria has operated a democracy without any known ideological stands by any of the major parties? How do we expect to get citizens to follow or even the politicians to stay faithful to any Party without any tangible set of ideological values connecting them to the Parties? Without any such clear ideological commiments, what would political leaders be held accountable for? Instead of encouraging the culture of ideological politics as the basis for electoral contest & subsequent service delivery, our politicians have forced citizens to settle for monetary inducement, electoral violence, results fabrication by INEC and judicial corruption as the only track to power. Little wonder that after getting to power, they become demigods , totally disconnected from the yearnings of the citizens. This is definitely not a culture to be proud of but a deeply dysfunctional system that must be dismantled, if a country like Nigeria with its huge potentials , must take its rightful place in the world. Our Country has been very badly impoverished in the midst of plenty , mostly as a result of this perverted genre of democracy, forced on the citizens by acutely selfish power mongers to perpetrate themselves in office.
A new Nigeria founded on known ideological politics, derived from our reverred african values & aligned with citizens-first democratic ethos is long overdue. Let enough be enough.
