Appreciation Message
With deep sense of humility, gratitude, and responsibility, I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming confidence and support reposed in me by the leadership, delegates, stakeholders, and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), across Katsina State.
Today’s affirmation as the APC governorship flag bearer for the 2027 General Elections is not merely a personal honour, but a renewed mandate to continue serving the good people of Katsina State with dedication, integrity, and commitment.
I remain fully committed to strengthening unity within our great party and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to consolidate the progress we have recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security support, youth empowerment, and economic development.
As we move forward, I urge all party members and supporters to remain united, focused, and steadfast in our mission of ensuring continued progress and prosperity for Katsina State, while also working towards delivering resounding victories for our party and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 General Elections.
I equally appreciate our party leaders, delegates, electoral officials, and every APC member whose support, maturity, and commitment ensured a peaceful, transparent, and successful process. I do not take this trust and confidence for granted.
The task ahead demands collective effort, unity of purpose, and unwavering commitment to service. By the grace of Allah, I will continue to serve with humility, fairness, and an abiding dedication to the development and wellbeing of our people.
Thank you, and may Allah continue to bless Katsina State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
On Friday, I joined leaders, investors, and development partners in Lagos to discuss lasting solutions to internal displacement across Northern Nigeria. At the conference held at Lagos Continental Hotel, I emphasized that the real path to stability in our region lies in restoring livelihoods, rebuilding local economies, and attracting sustainable private sector investment.
As Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, I reassured our collective commitment to reposition the Northwest as a hub for agriculture, livestock development, agro-processing, renewable energy, and manufacturing. Our region has the land, the people, and the market potential, what we need is scaled investment that turns displacement-affected communities into centres of productivity and growth.
I am encouraged by the strong national and international alignment at the event, including remarks conveyed on behalf of Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the support of partners such as the United Nations, the International Finance Corporation, and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
While humanitarian support saves lives, investment restores dignity, creates jobs, and secures the future. The Northwest stands open to partnerships that promote prosperity, lasting peace, and sustainable development.
Yesterday, we made history in Katsina.
I had the honour of commissioning the first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in our state, the Greenville LNG- CNG Hub Station, a major step forward in our journey toward energy security, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
This project is a clear demonstration that our promises are being translated into tangible results. From my visit to Greenville’s facility in Kaduna in January 2024 to today’s commissioning, this achievement reflects vision, strong partnership, and deliberate execution.
Energy remains central to our development agenda because it is the backbone of security, productivity, and economic growth. With this new CNG station, we are providing cleaner and more affordable fuel for our people, supporting transporters, businesses, and institutions, creating jobs, expanding economic opportunities, and advancing our energy transition and climate goals.
This milestone aligns with the Federal Government’s Presidential CNG Initiative and our broader strategy to diversify energy sources in Katsina by combining gas, solar, battery storage, and grid improvements to deliver reliable and sustainable power.
Beyond this CNG hub, our administration is in the process of hybridizing the state wind farm with solar photovoltaic systems and battery storage, deployed solar mini-grids and stand-alone systems in rural communities, markets, and public institutions, invested in transformers and energy infrastructure to strengthen electricity distribution, and prioritised local content, youth empowerment, and skills development.
Our goal is to build a secure, productive, and climate-conscious Katsina where citizens and investors can thrive.
I sincerely appreciate our partners at Greenville LNG, regulators, transport unions, and all stakeholders who made this project possible. We are collectively positioning Katsina as a forward-looking state that embraces innovation, accountability, and responsible investment.
Katsina State Civil Service Screening Exercise
Earlier today, I personally took the lead by participating in the ongoing civil service screening exercise as Katsina State formally begins a comprehensive reform of our public service.
This exercise is a critical component of our commitment to transparency, efficiency and accountability in governance. By my participation, alongside the leadership of Government House, we are sending a clear message that no one is above the reform and that leadership must always lead by example.
The screening exercise, guided by the recently concluded mandate mapping of our Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), is designed to verify personnel records, assess staffing needs and ensure that roles across the civil service are properly aligned with institutional responsibilities. This process will help eliminate inefficiencies, strengthen performance and generate credible data for improved manpower planning.
Importantly, one of the expected outcomes of this reform is the creation of opportunities for the recruitment of more qualified graduates into the civil service. As gaps are identified, we intend to properly engage young professionals with the requisite skills and competencies to enhance service delivery and rejuvenate the public sector.
Let me emphasize that this exercise is not a witch-hunt. Rather, it is aimed at building a professional, motivated and future-ready civil service capable of effectively delivering on our development priorities.
I urge all civil servants across Katsina State to remain patient and to cooperate fully with officials conducting the screening. Your understanding and support are essential to the success of this important reform.
God bless Katsina State
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria
In our bid to strengthen grassroots governance and deliver development to communities, Yesterday, I had the privilege of flagging off the distribution of 1,100 motorcycles to our Community Development Programme (CDP) officers and commissioning modern irrigation machinery for deployment across Katsina State.
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to people-centered development, ensuring government services reach every community while empowering our farmers to maximize agricultural productivity.
The motorcycles will be provided to CDP officers under a 50% subsidized hire-purchase scheme, exclusively for official duties, enabling them to efficiently mobilize communities, supervise government projects, and monitor development interventions across the state. Misuse of this equipment will attract sanctions in line with Civil Service rules, ensuring accountability and responsibility.
To further support our farmers, we also commissioned six modern tube-well drilling machines and three wheel air compressors, expanding access to groundwater and promoting year-round farming. This complements our previous distribution of 4,000 solar-powered irrigation pumps and the continued provision of essential farm inputs, fertilizers, water pumps, sprayers, herbicides, and pesticides, designed to enhance productivity, create jobs, and improve livelihoods.
I am grateful for the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Katsina State Irrigation Development Authority, the State House of Assembly, local governments, and all CDP partners, whose dedication ensures our development agenda translates into tangible benefits for communities.
Working together, we are building a Katsina that is inclusive, productive, and food-secure, truly living up to our heritage of hospitality, resilience, and progress.
God bless Katsina State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬.

For the first time today, I realized that the problem of Nigeria is not leadership per say, but the opportunists nature of its citizens.
I was scheduled for an appointment at the Russian Embassy Abuja by 11am today, and somehow, I missed my way to the Embassy. Instead of the Russian Embassy, I found myself at the UN Office which had the same structure painting with the Russian Embassy. I checked my time and it was 10:42am. Looking frustrated, I asked for directions and the security guards directed me to a cluster of Taxi Drivers at the opposite side. I crossed to the other side and immediately about five of the Taxi Drivers rushed towards me.
"Oga where you dey go"? They asked simultaneously
"Russian Embassy" I responded
"Ahhhhh! Russian Embassy. E far o" one of the men responded.
"Is about two hours drive from here" the man added
"How much will you take me there"? I asked
"Oga na 30k o" he responded
My heart skip.
I was pleading and negotiating with this man to please accept 20k as I was running out of time but he stood his ground.
A Hausa man hawking orange who was following our conversation, came behind me and whispered in Hausa "Dan dai kana sauri ne, Amman akasama zaka iya zuwa Russian Embassy" (if not because you are in a haste, you can trek to Russian Embassy).
The orange hawker then instructed me to follow him. I checked my time and it was 10:49am.
We trekked few miles, take just two turns and crossed over an overhead bridge. Boom! We are at the front of Russian Embassy.
I checked my time and it was 10:57am. I could not help but hug the man tightly until the orange on his stray start falling. We chatted for few minutes. He told me he came all the way from Ingawa Local Government in Katsina State. I told him I am from Funtua local government in Katsina State. We quickly exchange contact and I dash off.
While waiting for my turn to be invited into the Embassy, my mind traveled back to the Taxi Driver I was desperately begging to accept 20k. Some of us are worse than the leaders we complain everyday about. It's just opportunity we lack.

Katsina State Executive Council Approves Key Projects to Drive Development.
At its 13th regular meeting held yesterday, the Katsina State Executive Council approved a series of impactful projects across the information, education, works, and commerce sectors. These decisions reflect the administration’s ongoing commitment to delivering on the "Building Your Future" agenda—focused on improving education, driving innovation, modernizing infrastructure, strengthening public services, and promoting inclusivity across the state.
One of the key approvals was the completion of the Katsina State Transport Authority(KTSTA) Modern Terminal at Dandagoro. This project is designed to modernize transport within the Katsina metropolis, ease commuting, and drive economic activity. It represents a major step toward aligning Katsina with global standards for urban infrastructure.
The Council also approved the leasing of Malumfashi Motel to private investors. This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to optimize public assets and attract investment, turning underutilized state-owned properties into engines of economic growth and job creation.
In the information sector, the Council approved the full digitization of Katsina State Television (KTTV). The upgrade will include the installation of a 5KW transmitter, a 2.2KW backup transmitter, and a solar power system. This will allow KTTV to broadcast via satellite, reaching viewers through decoders and standard antennas, while delivering high-quality sound and visuals. The transformation is expected to position KTTV as a leading platform for information, education, and entertainment across the state and beyond.
In education, the Council approved a contract for the procurement of customized textbooks for Early Education Childhood Development (EECD), primary, and junior secondary schools across all 34 local government areas of the state. This initiative is aimed at improving literacy rates, enhancing academic performance, and reviving the reading culture among pupils.
These decisions reaffirm the government’s dedication to transparent, people-centered governance, and sustainable development. Each project is a step toward building a stronger, smarter, and more inclusive state for all.
Seven years ago, I was appointed Katsina Local Government coordinator for the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ movement. This journey aimed to empower young people to contest and actively participate in the decision-making process.
I never imagined that years later, I would become a living testament to what we envisioned. I am grateful to the courageous young individuals from all walks of life who stood their ground for our shared beliefs. @YIAGA 👏

Visit prisons to appreciate God for freedom. Visit hospitals to appreciate God for being healthy and visit graveyards to appreciate God for being alive. Prisoners are healthy are alive but lack freedom. Patients are free and alive but lack health. In graveyards, there are people who have achieved all you dream of achieving.
Appreciate God for being healthy, free and alive to pursue your dream. That’s the greatest WEALTH.
In a strategic move to revamp our economy, I have approved the establishment of a plant in Katsina State for tricycles, motorcycles, and electric bicycles, along with the procurement of 500 tricycles for youth empowerment and reducing transportation costs in the state.
