Today at the regular Executive Council meeting in Sokoto, I renewed our administration’s total commitment to confronting and defeating the scourge of banditry that has disrupted lives and livelihoods in parts of our dear state. Since assuming office, we have consistently provided our security agencies with the necessary support, logistics, and encouragement to carry out their constitutional mandate of protecting lives and property.

In addition to these efforts, we have injected new strategies and approaches that, by Allah’s will, will bring lasting peace and security to all affected communities. Tackling banditry remains at the core of our priorities, because we recognize that without peace, there can be no meaningful socio-economic development.

I also charged our Commissioners to ensure strict monitoring and inspection of all projects under their respective ministries. This government will never compromise standards or tolerate mediocrity in project execution. Our people, who overwhelmingly entrusted us with their mandate, deserve only the highest quality of service delivery and tangible dividends of democracy.

As we press forward, I call on all well-meaning citizens of Sokoto State to join hands with us in this noble task—through collaboration, support, and continued prayers. Together, and with unwavering faith, we will overcome the menace of insecurity and build a more prosperous, peaceful, and united Sokoto State for generations to come. -AAS
