@ZezimasAlt@blazerwagon One of the best defenders, rebounders, and screen setters in the league. With the upside to become a good catch and shoot guy too. And he’s still only finished year 2.
@M_O_X_I_E@TwoForOneTalk I think Scoot has shown signs of being a really high end role player. Sharpe has shown vague remote signs of stardom, but doesn’t feel like a great role player if he doesn’t make that leap. If Portland wants to win now and gets Giannis, I think scoot is the better one to keep.
@kennywhitney11@joesimonssays If he came to Portland, he’d be the primary ball handler and offensive engine. Dame (and Deni) would have to adjust to being secondary guys to him.
@fantasyBYB@AndrewDBailey@bball_ref Wilt had 6 seasons where he averaged under 20 points per 36. He only averaged 14 ppg his last two seasons while still playing 43 minutes. His first 9 seasons were insane. The end of his career kind of drags down some of his career averages.
@EminIsmail64344@Betsycashmoney@rikoruss31 In this day and age of sports medicine, I would be pretty optimistic about guys coming back and being the same. It just doesn’t feel like the drop off from major injuries is the same as it was 20 years ago.
@rowleyjeffboy@SamQuinnCBS They traded two firsts to get the pick that was used to take Coward. Which is proof that you should value picks differently. And if you wanted to trade for say a top 4 pick from the last draft, it would take more than the remaining 3 firsts Memphis got from Orlando.
@_iamblakeley@SenSchumer In what world is he the highest ranking official in the senate when the opposing party is the majority? The majority leader would be the highest ranking official in the senate, not the minority leader.
@Betsycashmoney Look at the Dame extension. The one that was supposed to start this year, but instead is dead cap. Extending guys that old with a bunch of years left is just a horrible decision.
@mirio26s@moswish17 How would they tank? Just offload Deni and Camara for assets and no good players? It’s not that they don’t want to. They’re flat out too talented to tank with the bad teams.
@Loris_731@Possiblechairs In all time historic rankings? Not really. It’s about what you accomplished, not how “good” you were.
I would also say something like MVP voting shows who was considered better in a year. You said Shai was only better the one year. But I’d argue it was the last 3.
@sick_ofidiots @Possiblechairs Better and greater are just different. Russell won 5 MVPs. Shaq is a better basketball player straight up. Russell is (arguably) a greater NBA player when he played.
@Loris_731@Possiblechairs It’s probably debatable. But for me, I value the ring and FMVP more than two more first team All NBA selections.
Shai has finished above Luka in MVP each of the last 3 years. So I’m not sure your last point is anything close to agreed upon.
@MatKnowsBall@Possiblechairs Neither is close to the 3rd best PG ever. Luka has more top 5 MVP finishes and over double the first team All NBA selections. He also was the #1 option on a Finals team. Westbrook has ever won a playoff series as a #1 option.
@NightreignFan@NBA_University Yep. When he scores it’s not really that positive. He gets rebounds but the team rebounding isn’t better because of him. He looks like he’s defending guys, but the team defense is better when he’s on the bench. No factor of the team is drastically better because of him.
