Keystone Bookkeepers - STR bookkeeping for property managers and investors.
Bookkeepers Without Borders - helping accounting firms hire offshore talent.
We provide bookkeeping, bill pay, owner reports, and trust accounting to short-term rental property managers and co-hosts. If you're using Guesty, Hostaway, Hostfully, or Hospitable and dread owner reports, I'd love to show you how we can help!
@DIBookkeeping We did $1.1M in 2024 and will probably come in around $2.7M this year. Don't know if we could have done it any faster organically without me not taking a paycheck.
Gotcha - we use Vercel as our front-end, but I think they are similar.
For stuff like this, Chat is probably fine, but if you're actually building something other than one-off things, Code would be what you'd want to use. But you'd want to set up a Github repository and probably a database (we use Supabase). That's where we pull QBO data (along with Karbon, Notion, Fireflies, etc.) and then our app runs off that.
it's building things locally right? Like excel/word files that you download?
Code works directly in my Github account so it's writing the code/helping to debug. I just need to pull commit requests online to merge everything. I use Chat to architect things, help with emails, think through things, etc. But when it's building time, I have it write me a prompt and flip over to Code to execute.
@RDriscollCPA It's amazing!
We've used it to develop our own internal app that is starting to streamline a lot of our workflows. It has API connections to QBO and some other apps so we can use Claude to manipulate files and directly post.
@andreamacdcpa I guess it depends on how you define client info? Their comments are "remove this expense from Statement X" or "add this expense to Statement Y".
The biggest one so far is a tool that will take all comments/changes from the monthly owner statement process, list them out one by one so we can analyze who was responsible for that change (us or client) and then store that by bookkeeper/client so we can start to analyze trends and build monthly action plans to reduce comments and changes.
๐ฃ Partnership Announcement: Clearing x Keystone Bookkeepers
Managing Short-Term Rentals requires more than basic bookkeeping. It requires consistent trust accounting, reliable owner reporting, and a repeatable month-end close.
That is why we teamed up with @BenBookkeeper
Tax season shouldnโt be stressful.
But one missing W-9 or inconsistent vendor name is usually all it takes to turn filings into cleanup work, retracing payouts, and uncomfortable owner conversations.
Last week, I joined Topkey to walk through the exact 1099 prep process we use at Keystone Bookkeepers.
