The 5th edition of monthly series of talks ‘Point of View’(POV) organised by Ben Enwonwu Foundation in collaboration with the Society of Nigerian Artists, will take place Feb 26 at Alliance Française/Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Enwonwu studied fine art under Kenneth C. Murray at Government Colleges, Ibadan and Umuahia from 1934—37. This period marked the beginning of Enwonwu's formal education in art.
Did you know that in addition to his paintings and sculptures, Enwonwu was an accomplished scholar and critic and published several articles in which he formulated a philosophical basis for modern African art based on his interpretation of traditional African aesthetics?
