Pretty overblown reaction to this I think. Club is doing very well and ownership is doing a good job. But Red Bull linger and their history is horrific. Absolutely right to be worried, whilst also enjoying how things are going right now.
@b33r@TheSquareBall@btngnrtn I suppose the date of the friendly necessitates the article. Otherwise the game passes without comment and it 'normalises' the presence of RB at ER. Slippery slope once the fan base just starts accepting them as part of the furniture. Awareness and caution are both wise IMO
@b33r@TheSquareBall@btngnrtn That's fair, but it would be dangerous to make strong assumptions based upon one decision they made, a decision that could have been made for any number of reasons. What we do have, is an overwhelming body of evidence for how they have approached club ownership previously.
Today I join others from across our game and call for Gianni Infantino to resign as FIFA President.
Infantino has debased the office that he promised to elevate. He has lied, deceived and tried to feather his own nest at the expense of the game he is supposed to serve.
He has lost the support of his senior staff, his closest advisers, the vast majority of people who devote their lives to this sport and even, it would seem, the FIFA Peace Prize winner.
It is too late to save his dignity but it is not too late to save football. He should go. Now.

The rot at FIFA has gone too far. Under Infantino, political greed has completely broken the game we love.
We can't just watch from the sidelines anymore, the FA and our European partners need to walk away and build a fair, clean alternative from scratch. It’s time to move on.
FIFA to break football's laws by having half-time break at World Cup final of up to 30mins to accommodate glitzy Super Bowl-style show.
ITV will cover half-time show in full and BBC expected to do so too. https://t.co/Ri0jKslpR1
Whether it is or isn’t a red to Balogun is now irrelevant. Government interference is a violation of FIFA Article 2 & 15, and the punishment is disqualification and suspension. #FIFAWorldCup
To be clear: Whether it is or isn’t a red to Balogun is now irrelevant. Government interference is a violation of FIFA Article 2 & 15, and the punishment is disqualification and suspension. Nepal was suspended.
This is an admission of the violation.
@johnnyddavidson A record crowd who, once again, will not see a local interest play live. If the goal of the Magic Weekend still centres around expansion in any way shape or form, then it's missed the mark yet again and it's just another jolly boys outing for existing fans.
