Today I'm excited to post my first maps. I'm going to be looking at the only Republican gubernatorial defeat in Wisconsin between 1857 and 1888: the 1873 elections!
Here's the 1871 map for reference. Washburn will be the incumbent going into 1873

@snazzeo My father-in-law is a master builder. He is insanely gifted. We were in a 2010 Lego Harry Potter 4842 Hogwarts Castle, and I asked him what it would cost to buy it today. I will never forget his answer...
"We can't, we don't know how to do it"
Explicitly and obviously.
Dems should run an off-cycle ad (only on socials) and maybe a novelty social media account highlighting every promise fulfilled from Project 2025, with a different archival clip of a Dem highlighting that evil promise.
colorado has continued to vote more democratic because it is filled with highly educated people who are trending left. it has next to nothing to do with jared polis specifically
For the first time in history, the Senate will be voting on blocking weapons shipments to Israel. Bernie’s Joint Resolution of Disapproval covers $20 billion of offensive arms sales. Call your senator now and tell them to back Bernie up:

The gaslighting from this admin is unreal, you can see the frustration of reporters.
Matt Lee: Why did you bother to put in 350 trucks a day if it doesn’t matter
Patel: I’m not gonna speak to—
Lee: We didn’t give the Israelis 30 days, you guys did, and now those 30 days are up and all the metrics you put out don’t matter
Patel: I never said they don’t matter
@humeyra_pamuk: You said ‘rabbit hole’
Patel: I don’t want to take up time getting into truck numbers
Lee: Then why did you put them in the letter
Trump tells Javier Milei: "You are my favorite president." Elon Musk is in touch with one of Milei's ministers, and they want to "replicate the chainsaw" that Milei brought to Argentina's public spending and welfare state https://t.co/Pm7YSXwnN6
I will miss my followers list that I was pretty pleased with. Some cool professors, head of Marquette polling, AOCs campaign manager, Ashik Siddique, so many democratic socialists, award winning journalist Dan Shafer, and a host of neat regular moots.
Fully expecting Robin Vos to remain as Speaker now. Dems just didn't do well enough in the Assembly. Losing both Milwaukee County seats stings. Fumbling the 51st was bad. Just a few hundred votes was the difference in Fox Valley/GB seats. It's a bummer. https://t.co/TSRNWUbPJh
A petty way Biden could slow Trump's first 100 days would be issuing an executive order that EOs have to be typed out by the president themself with witnesses but no help. Trump would obviously reverse it right away, but to do so he'd have to spend a few hours on microsoft word
He turns 80 this month. It's a safe seat (albeit in a state where Harris ran way behind Biden) in a Dem-friendly Trump midterm, with a deep Dem bench that is screaming for a chance to run.
Yes, obviously'll he run again.
@cheer_wine People are saying Reagan, but imo it's Nixon. Under Nixon many of the gains of the 60s revolution were cemented, but he used conservatism to impose Law And Order, recommit American society to hierarchies, and snuff out the potential for further revolution.
This was word on Allegheny County Dem Committee a few years ago. Then, they added a bunch of new members through grassroots organizing, purged/sidelined the Trump supporters in their ranks, and now Allegheny County was one of only large urban counties not to move right in 2024
