I made a short strategic collaborative story-sharing board game about death. It's the first thing I've "published" on itch, so that's exciting and terrifying... sort of like death.

@dnlnwmn This reminds me of the time I tried writing rules for how to jump pieces "like checkers" without just assuming they knew what jumping was and thought I was losing my mind.
@FrankFrankerso8@BillyStu@OANN Ok Frank, what degree of classified nuclear weapons secrets do you think citizens should be able to steal from the government before they face legal consequences?
@ee0pdt@ThomTenery@cwarzel We can assume that AI will continue to get better over time at domain-specific tasks because there's no indication of that trend stopping or that it should not apply to art generation.
That AI will become better able to take work from artists over time is pretty likely.
@ee0pdt@ThomTenery@cwarzel We'll no, the fuss is about artists correctly predicting that these tools will soon be used in a way that loses them work. Evaluating risk only in terms of what's likely to happen right now is foolish when the near future consequences are easy to see.

And to make matters worse, these AI programs are trained on real artistsโ work. They are literally using what we create anyway, but not paying us for it, and producing a cheap imitation. These AI artworks would NOT EXIST without the original art they were trained on.
@denise66661@nbcwashington The key is for your crimes to be so precisely the crimes of our entire civilization that you cannot be held guilty without the system simultaneously condemning itself.
