@BrightonHoveCC Thanks for reply, I get the appropriation but the entire page/section of the site needs redesigning - it says click a button when really it's a link. Almost as if nobody wrote any CSS to make this page navigable;- Civica as a contracted party is providing extremely poor usability
How on πis this a #UI for a local authority of a 1/4 million people w/ annual budget of Β£924.2 million? What or who is Civica? What's an EStore? Why am I paying into "shops"? Where is the field or button? What the actual fuck is this?@BrightonHoveCC#accessibility#UX#CX#fail
@AskNationwide Like before could only do it via app. If anyone else has this issue, count on having a smartphone I loathe to use + refreshing it. Landlords don't like being unpaid if I recall. Musk can have his personal playground back now bye π#Nationwide#Banking#UX#CX#customerservice
.@AskNationwide Good evening... I must say it's v. annoying when to log in and see a balance for all accounts that is 24hrs out of date, can't view any transactions nor pay any bills at end of month. It's happened twice in a row. Preventative maintenance? #UX#CustomerExperience
@AskNationwide Frankly I can't be bothered as complaint resolution takes months. I need to pay 4 figures in rent and this is causing me to breach contract. I don't get why I never see planned maintenance communications, it's just unplanned. I often can't view outgoing payments too. Thank you.
@mattlambert@aprildunford So the approach seems to have culminated in, let's condense this as much as possible into one, top level view. Yet the executive might only need the highest level info. When the information density is high, it can become overwhelming & defeat itself. This is why context is vital.
@mattlambert@aprildunford The information seems quite heavily compounded into a complex diagram to save space; an exercise in containment, but what are the restrictions? But do you need to save space? I'd break this down into 2 or 3 views. A prospect doesn't usually mind gazing over just 2 or 3 constructs
@aprildunford@justinbohlmann I agree. It resembles an entity relationship diagram. It's going to be hard to prioritise the flow of information, which may not necessarily be technically accurate. We can have the direction of flows between actions but what is the translation happening there. Outline that.
@aprildunford Indeed. I hear you. Their efficacy can be attributed to their visual appeal as well as their positioning of otherwise abstract, isolated aspects of a service/system. I think it's important to recognise when representing the same info in whichever way, we too obfuscate basic text
@aprildunford Well yes, it is OK but as design professionals we are also admitting to selling a product, surely. Design for design's sake can undermine the value of information itself. In short, design less, devise less. There are many aspects of obfuscation in design that impair access goals.
@aprildunford The bunny is like some kind of boardroom / design hell, often making an appearance akin to a FB/IG sticker. Of course, we have to have everyone know that this random stock person can do *all these things*, also they're a bunny, in a cloak, add a wand and some sparkles O HELL YEAH
@aprildunford I realise viewing this in isolation is somewhat facetious but it's also a useful thought exercise. We have all these active verbs, but, what are we doing? What are we packaging, verifying, monitoring? Software, right? Maybe, I don't even know. These sound like random biz words.
@aprildunford This one barely reads even at full screen on 1400x900 / about A4; what's the design space? On a webpage or PDF we are often just filling space, designing designs, rather than presenting info. Visual comms. serve no other purpose but we love to design out the useful information!
@aprildunford I feel the text size/contrast is way too small in most of these E.G.s; negative space is good, colour is great, but not so much when we have about 10:1 vis. metaphor to information density. Besides construction of a continuum, cycle, process etc the visual isn't weighing up imo.
@lizziedavey Unfortunately most of my time spent on there lately has been reading homophobic and transphobic content, as well as literally ending up with a crime reference number for First Time Harassment, after unsolicited emails about my "bullshit" sexuality.
So not really recently tbh
