EXCLUSIVE: The city & non-profit running the 11th Street Bridge Park project will accept contractor bids as soon as next month.
This is a long time coming – it's been 15 years since the project was first proposed & 12 years since they settled on a design.

New: We're entering a one-year exclusivity agreement with Children's National and funding location evaluation for a new campus in Washington, DC.
Here's why:
1. The hospital is DC's second-largest private employer, 8,800 employees and $3B in economic impact each year.
2. Last year, the hospital served 258,000+ children, including 75,000+ District children.
3. The hospital seeks a new location to accommodate a new 425-bed hospital, outpatient services, and office space.

Thank you, Congresswoman for a lifetime of service — to our nation and to your hometown.
You taught us how to fight, how to stand up, and how to be the change we want to see.
Incredibly proud to have witnessed a true icon in action. You will always be our Warrior on the Hill.
With fire in my soul and the facts on my side, I’ve raised hell about the injustice of denying 700K taxpaying Americans in DC the same rights given to residents of the states for 33 years.
Now, with pride in our accomplishments, gratitude to DC, and confidence in the next generation, I announced I'll retire at the end of this term.
I want to congratulate Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton on a remarkable career.
For 35 years, Congresswoman Norton has been our Warrior on the Hill - from securing shutdown protection for the city and the creation of DCTAG, to defeating continued attacks on Home Rule and leading historic votes in the House for DC Statehood. Her work embodies the unwavering resolve of a city that refuses to yield in its fight for equal representation.
Today, Mayor Bowser broke ground on The Geneva, the largest office-to-residential conversion in the District's history.
This single project will bring 532 new homes, including 60 affordable, and pushes DC even closer to welcoming 15,000 new residents Downtown.
It has been the honor of my life to be your Mayor. Together, we have built a legacy of success of which I am intensely proud.
With a grateful heart, I am announcing that I will not seek a fourth term.
For the next 12 months, let's run through the tape and keep winning for DC.
I just released my AI for America roadmap, and it boils down to this: The companies driving and profiting the most from AI need to do their part to strengthen our workforce, modernize our energy infrastructure, and ensure safety.
We're not trading housing for a stadium—we're using the momentum of the stadium to build more housing.
❌Without it, 180 acres of opportunity sit vacant.
✅With it, we build over 6,000 new units of housing in Ward 7.
It's a win for our team, our city, and our residents.
Black Restaurant Week in Washington, DC is here! 🔥🍽️ Happening now through July 27, this is a fantastic opportunity to support local restaurants and we’re going Beyond the Kitchen to amplify the voices of DC’s Black owners and chefs.👩🏾🍳 First up is Samantha Abrams of Sapodillas, a Caribbean restaurant located in Anacostia that opened earlier this year with support from @mayor_bowser’s Food Access Fund.

We're so excited for the Art Ave public art installation coming in and around Farragut Square this September - funded in part by our Streets for People grants to enliven and improve public space.

👏 Congrats to @GoldenTriDC and the artists!
The #RENTALAct introduced by @mayorbowser is an essential lifeline for rebalancing our housing ecosystem during this unprecedented crisis.
Any attempt to undermine the original intent of the legislation will only exacerbate the issues DC is facing.
DC – the time is now to transform the RFK Campus from asphalt into vibrancy.
If we don’t seize this moment, we risk losing thousands of jobs and billions in tax revenue — and the RFK Campus will continue to sit vacant. Let’s get it done!

Hundreds of D.C. residents, including parents, teachers, and union members are lobbying Senate offices today against the spending bill that would slash more than $1 billion from D.C.’s local budget.
