In time for #EarthScienceWeek our paper published in @NatureComms today explores the interactions between spreading ridges and mantle plumes. 🔥

We found that when mantle plumes are coupled to spreading ridges, they can act as an anchor ⚓️ and impede spreading ridge migration.
