@dr_pickls@techsan7@barstoolsports Yeah. I mean it depends. If deboer and oats can continue to recruit the way they have despite having less money than a lot of schools, they will continue to be able to compete.
@Kotaku Did you want it to be like the TMNT 2 movie where they had weapons but never actually use them? I mean his weapon is sharp claws. Kinda hard to use them and not make blood and gore.
@Troydeeogee@barstoolsports Well it's pretty simple. Before nil, everyone paid players still, but it wasn't out in the open. So the prices weren't shared so you didn't have to match offers from other schools. Now that it's out in the open, the schools with billionaires can offer much more.
@dr_pickls@techsan7@barstoolsports Yep. That oil money is what's gonna make Texas schools unstoppable in the nil era. They will always have the most money and can buy the best players.
@hookinemgood@wreckedraider92@JoshPateCFB Nah. Texas schools have the oil money. Oregon has knight. Ohio state has billionaire donors as well I think. Not every major school has billionaire donors. Not even close. Bama is way behind in money. That one reason it's so amazing that deboer has recruited as well as he has.
@hookinemgood@wreckedraider92@JoshPateCFB Well the best way to be in the spotlight is to pay a bunch of money for players lol. And to be able to tell the school where and who to spend it on.
@techsan7@barstoolsports Yes. Every school paid players before the nil era. Now it's just out in the open. Before, nobody really knew how much other schools were paying, so they didn't have to always try and match offers. Now that it's in the open, everyone knows so the schools with the most money win.
@hookinemgood@wreckedraider92@JoshPateCFB Yes lol. That was my original point. The Texas schools are going to dominate the nil era. Especially in smaller sports. That's just the way the rules are set up.
@hookinemgood@wreckedraider92@JoshPateCFB Exactly. There is no public nil data. You just have to take the evidence. Tech has billionaire athletic donors from oil money. Tech started getting good at sports when nil became a thing. That's evidence.
@thejivy@NextRoundLive Sometimes charges get reduced because it makes it easier to get a conviction and it becomes more of a sure thing to get a plea deal. That's just how the system works. And that's how it works everywhere.
@techsan7@barstoolsports It's not about operating budgets lol. That matters little. It's about nil. Tech has billionaire athletic donors from oil money. They suddenly started getting good at sports when nil started becoming a thing. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out.
