@ChaponaBike123@Cbslpg@roadcc In the end use, HC Rule 147 for all users
Be patient remember anyone can make a mistake
don't allow yourself to become agitated or involved if someone is behaving badly on the road
Slow down, hold back if a road user pulls out into your path at a junction. Allow them to get clear
@ChaponaBike123@Cbslpg@roadcc They do, when someone is walking across it they have precedence of the full length. The reason is people take cues from other people at crossings, this avoids accidents if bikes, busses, drivers are stopped. Everyone around knows the crossing is in use somewhere.
@ChaponaBike123@Cbslpg@roadcc It would be better if the raised knobbles where also between the car and crossing to remind drivers not to cross earlier, also a big cycle symbol in the middle of the turn in as another reminder. No doubt some just cut in whatever is happening.
@ChaponaBike123@Cbslpg@roadcc It would be deemed a 'safe gap in the flow' as the cyclist should now be stopped with no way forward. I don't see how you cannot see that. That zebra crossing is the same as a red light when someone is on it until they step off it.
@Cbslpg@ChaponaBike123@roadcc These being the important parts, clearly cyclist cannot advance, will be stopped. Safe to turn in and wait for the people to clear route. Cyclist can easily see what's happening.
@dac3uk@tony_eh Yes a shared use path, not a cycle lane.. At the speeds he's travelling it is recommended (or at least used to be) not to use them, they are no designed for it.
They are designed for pootling along.
@UKgrids@HullCamGuy@Hullccnews I guess their multistory carpark they own is too far. At the other side of the garden.
Personal that street was an great place for us with a wheelchair. It is quiet, large spaces and easy access all around the car.
Make all the new spots accessible parking only.
@UKgrids@Hullccnews I thought the cycling lane was turned into a path and takes half the white area now.
It was shown to be (with tiny cars) single lane, building side to have chevron style parking.
@azb2019@BrightLitegames@CyclingLawLDN Does that matter when it's used in court for evidence they didn't close pass. Police say it's ok here, they know best. I'll use that as my guide ;-).
@luton_paul@azb2019@CyclingLawLDN Maybe for you, work on 800mm for width, many bars are that wide and elbow to elbow for a relaxed ride will be that even with narrower bars.
And that's to the car wheel, my cars and probably that car is 30cm extra on so make it that. So call it 70cm off that 150cm. Still luxury.
@BobFromAccounts Either scrap the cycle give way markings (and that bollard!) and zebra the cycle crossing/alternative markings.
There is cognative overload when approaching it in a car. (and probably a cycle).
Make it clear and obvious.
Maybe a small bump in the road too to wake drivers up.
@BobFromAccounts But the bikers are told to give way and have entry, so they are att he crossing junction. Drivers have no give way sign.
I know as both I would stop as a cyclist and drive through unless someone on the zebra crossing as the marking seem to show.
